Dear Heather, The healing of the heart chackra takes time, with patience, kindness and determination it will surely happen. I would recommend to do the very calm breathing practices mostly. Like gentle slow Ujjayi pranayama, Kaki mudra pranayama, anulom vilom and cosmic breathing. They are all described in the online course. Learn to breathe with kindness and forgiveness. Also, learn to sit still for longer periods of time after a session and become aware of what is happening on a deeper layer of your being and bring the light of awareness into that. Wishing you peace and blessings, Michaël

Hi Mike, thank you very much for this wonderful tutorial! I've been curious though - do you use a yoga cushion to sit on? Regards from Austria. Dominik

Hi Dominik, yes I use a pillow. Having the hips at a higher level than the knees makes long sitting sessions a lot more comfortable :) . Peace and good vibes, Michaël
@dominikt.71674 жыл бұрын
@@yogalap I thought so 😅 I m also using a yoga pillow when I do your pranayama exercises or other meditative yoga exercises. It supports my cross-legged upright sitting position. Without any pillow support I have a tendency to crook my back or my upper body to tilt backwards after a few minutes. Also it's hard to keep my knees on the ground while sitting cross-legged without the pillow. Wasn't really sure though whether using a pillow is a good idea or not for these practises, so I'm greatful for your reply 😁 Really like your tutorials and pranayama exercises. Hi Michael! Very nice video and very helpful. Now, I think, I understand what Kapalbhati really means. One question only: Does the very last exhalation have to be stopped for as long as possible? Namaste
@yogalap5 жыл бұрын
Dear Norbert, thank you for your comment, I am glad you find the video helpful. So to end Kapalbhati can be done in different ways with each way its own advantages. There are different ways of holding the breath in Pranayama, this is called Kumbhaka ( I explain this in full in the online Pranayama course: www.udemy.com/pranayama/?couponCode=PRANA9-99) Either you hold the breath after a full inhalation (Antar Kumbhaka), after complete exhalation ( Bahya Kumbhaka), or keep breath still with lungs relaxed ( Kevela Kumbhaka). It is a bit much to explain all in detail, I would suggest to try it out for yourself and feel the effect on your mind, body and energy system. Make sure you don´t hold the breath longer than comfortable because this will make your mind and energy system just more restless. Peace and blessings, Michaël

How many do we do in one sitting? Beginner rate and experienced rate.
@yogalap6 жыл бұрын
the amount depends on your capacity. Feel it. Never exceed your capacity. If you feel you get control over the breathing muscles and abdominal area and you can do this practice with the rest of the body loose and with no tension in mind and body, then do it till you feel it is enough, that can be 20 times or 200 times, it just depends. Do it for 3 or 2 rounds, first round just warm up not to long. Tune in with body and mind and breath calm and then do another round and then do it until you feel it is enough. You are the only one that can judge when to stop because you are the only one that can feel your body and mind. There is one very VERY important rule in yoga practice and that is `do not harm´ so when you feel pain, discomfort, headache or something like that, you have pushed it to far. Tune in with your mind, body and breath and life itself will teach you the right duration. Peace and blessings, Michael

Dear Ashok, that is why in the yogic system of Raja Yoga there are 8 (ashtanga) steps towards the liberation of the mind. You have to take care of your body with asana before going into stronger pranayama practice. So if you want to do Kapalbhati properly, train first your body (Asana practice) to strengthen the body to prepare for pranayama. Or just do softer pranayama first of do kapalbhati more gentle and slow. You can do it laying down but it does not have the full benefit like whan sitting down. Peace and blessings, Michaël

There is one very VERY important rule in yoga practice and that is `do not harm´ so when you feel pain, discomfort, headache or something like that, you have pushed it to far. Tune in with your mind, body and breath and life itself will teach you the right duration. Peace and blessings, Michael
