I need to do this. Was chasing a p0016 code forever on my 2.0 bpg. Ended up being stripped keyway on timing gear, had a shop do my timing about 20k ago and apparently they didn’t clean up old coolant and left the diamond washer out and didn’t tighten bolt enough. So I need to get this kit.. also that tool is needed as well.

@BWSTT4 жыл бұрын
@@DecimalTenths yeah, one 4mm pin, and the ARP bolt should be plenty. I like the idea of 2 to be extra safe, but I wasn't worried that I only got the one. My engine build is no where at your level, so if it goes I'll only be sending rosten vales into standard pistons, and maybe bending some max speeding rods 🤷🏻♂️

Cheers! It can be done with the crank still in the car, but you'd have to remove the crank bolt as the dowels are installed underneath it.

Hi there, links to all the kit I use is in the description. You can buy a kit and even pre drilled crank pulleys from proraceengineering if you didnt want to get that bit yourself.

Hi Nick I know this is quite an old thread now but can I do this with the belt in place? As in take the bolt out and do it in place? Cheers
@DecimalTenths4 жыл бұрын
Hi David, its probably not impossible BUT the belt tension would most probably dislodge the bottom pulley when removed, so I wouldn't advise it. It would be very simple to do with the belt removed, and then just change the belt at the same time, which is what I would do.
@davidkane98764 жыл бұрын
@@DecimalTenths it's a fresh build just about to go in the car dude. I've been toying with the idea since you did the video. I am running a k04 hybrid and my builder didn't deem it necessary and nor does my mate who's is about to fit it. But I'm unsure dude. Turbo has made 330hp 348 ft lbs at r tech. I know it's not huge.
