As someone who considers themselves a beginner hybrid athlete, the way you break down how and what to eat is great. I've been tracking food for a couple of years now and have lost weight, gained muscle and endurance during that time, but I don't think I have reached my potential. At 43 and still in the Army, I really have to pay attention to what I'm doing with food and exercise.

I ran my first half marathon yesterday!! 3 years ago I weighed over 300 lbs now I'm around 210, I had started running a lot this year and wanted to do a race, I kinda stopped my training but in a weeks notice my friends talked me into this half marathon that had a lot of downhill on a mountain. It was an amazing experience I kept a good steady pace the whole way and finished under 3 hours! I definitely want to keep racing with proper training and conditioning and get even better, I think the adrenaline and the runners high masked the pain that was in my body, and if I hadn't of needed to spend 20 minutes on the toilets I would've been even better. My body is super sore and broken down right now in quite a bit of pain and it's going to take a lot of time to recover but I'm so glad I did it. I will definitely make sure I'm properly conditioned next time as I'm still a bigger dude and it takes a toll on me that way

You motivated me to try my first cycle. On a 16 week cycle and with your hybrid training program I ran and finished my first 50 and 100 mile ultra's and won 4 gold's in 2 Brazilian Jiu jitsu competitions. I also got 900 lb total in a powerlifting comp. Didn't place but it's a PR for me by 220 pounds. Thanks bro

A respectful suggestion for your video editors: the volume in your videos is inconsistent, leaving some parts so quiet that I have to blast the volume to hear you, and then other parts are suddenly much louder, and it goes back and forth. (example: watch the segment clip from 2:40-2:55). You can see it again from 9:10-9:30). I love your content. Been following you for years and will continue to. I genuinely care about your channel, I know how much you’re doing to make this community (and people in general) better. Otherwise I wouldn’t even bother writing this.

Love it Nick! I would love to hear you break down more information on your mostly organic, whole food diet. Not enough people pay attention to the ingredients and quality of foods going into their bodies. Do you have a podcast episode or could you do one that breaks down the quality of your nutrition and even how your views have changed. (example: grass-fed beef, pasture-raised eggs, etc.) G1M!

Love the KISS mentality! I hava kind of come to that conclusion on my own after years of lacking consistency and constantly struggling to sustain a long period of performance! At the end of the day, try to get the basics down consistantly before you try to do all the special stuff 80/20 rule again. Well now I have a name for it... KISS!!! Amazing!

People hating on the “supplement pushing” but every athlete takes supplements and it’s a lot easier to get extra protein and electrolytes by using supplements rather than purely food. So does it really matter? Hes being transparent and actually spitting facts so idk what y’all’s problem is 😂

Endurance Athletes must anticipate their body needs, before the body needs it. It take time for H2O or CHO to get into the blood stream. When your supply is low and your body needs more, it’s too late to try and catch up. Plan, prepare, & anticipate your nutrition.

This is a great video but why is no one talking about the cost of living and eating like this? I am a student in college and play a sport at elite level and I really want to get stronger and increase muscle mass but how can I even do that when electrolyte powder costs $60 for a small tub? Nick always suggests eating grass-fed ground beef but that stuff is absurdly expensive, especially for a student. This is unrealistic

Hey Nick, would love to get your (and everyone else’s) take on artificial sweeteners as part of a regular diet. Since not much is known about the long-term effects of artificial sweeteners, is it a good idea to consume multiple servings of them every day? I love your products, but man…g1m sport in the morning, protein powder in the afternoon, and peak sleep on the evening - that’s artificial sweeteners for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There’s also the question of the type of artificial sweeteners used - I think some of your products have monk fruit extract, which is a natural sweetener, but others have acesulfame potassium, which is artificial and more iffy in terms of research. Any thoughts?
