When I was 26 I was confirmed to have active C. Diff that was causing a lot of health issues. Going to the bathroom over 20 times per day, worried about damage to the bowels, etc. I was put on a very expensive antibiotic called vancomycin that did nothing but drain my prescription coverage (like $400 for a week's worth supply). C. Diff caused issues for over a month then I decided on my own to try probiotics and more specifically Saccharomyces boulardii. My doctor said don't bother but after a week of a 100 billion strand general probiotic, the Saccharomyces boulardii, and prebiotic food 30 minutes later I was back to normal in a week and have been fine since. Is this anecdotal evidence? I don't know enough about the field but probiotics can work, my family and I are proof of that so try them out if you have issues. They generally cannot hurt you.

Interesting on the c-section part. My husband and his half sister were both C-section babies due to complications. My husband is a twig and his half sister puts a lot more work into maintaining a healthy weight. Now, they are half siblings but both were raised in the same house and my MIL had 100% custody of my husband

I was disappointed in the discussion surrounding artificial sweeteners. Your guest sounded like they had strong feelings towards them but offered no evidence to support that determination. I would love to hear more about artificial sweeteners. The research that Ive been able to review has been a mixed bag and only offered up weak correlation. Do people who drink a lot of artificial sweetners have poorer health outcomes because they tend to be unhealthy to begin with? Or is there something in the sweetener that leads to poor health outcomes? Would love to hear more!

@@DrKaran Especially if the other option is ingesting more sugar. I would argue based on what we know of sugar that artificial sweeteners are an overall good thing. Perhaps a "necessary evil" at worst(until we know more). It's easy to just say stop eating so much, or don't eat sugar ect but that type of thinking leads to poor health outcomes.

My body went supernova and just exploded out into Infinity. It was like I was an ice cube thrown into the ocean and it just melted. This was by far the most incredible and most positive and most joyful experience that you could possibly imagine. That was the moment of death and I had the Epiphany that death is the greatest thing that could happen to a living creature because it feels like in that process of dying for a split second it's terrifying because you're dying and you have no idea what's coming next. But then as you fully let go and the death occurs the next Split Second you're so relieved. It's like your entire life was this giant thousand pound weight wrapped around your shoulders just tons and tons of weight and then all of it was just lifted in a split second and you realize that you're untouchable and that you're Immortal and that nothing could ever disturb you again. It's complete peace just utter peace and joy and profundity. The beauty of it is Indescribable. How is it possible. There's no way that this is possible. Did I really just die? How could that be? I'm laughing and I'm smiling 😂

Interesting about the importance of mothers' microbiomes in the future of the kids' gut health. I just want to mention that often times women have autoimmune issues and we are more prone too to things like IBS and so on. How do these work into what is discussed here? It sounds to me like it's a huge parcel of different things affecting modern gut microbiomes.

Seconding food intolerance OR IBS. And I take a probiotic (liquid one) and while I know they've just ragged on probiotics, this one does seem to help. It's not a miracle worker, I'm not a whole new person, but my mood is a little better, so are my evacuation habits and my bloating. My probiotic has a list of different verified strains and some prebiotics to keep them fed (and slippery elm, which I assume protects them from stomach acids a little) When I don't take it, my tummy is noticeably worse (got IBS and lactose intolerance) I also take it in conjunction with green powder (a mix of different plant fibres and proteins). Disclaimer: I do this while trying to eat fruit and veg, lean proteins and various grains and legumes. Neither of these substitute a healthy diet, but if you are like me and your best attempts at a healthy and balanced diet still weren't yielding results... maybe it helps like it did for me.

It could be a lot of things. SIBO, dysbiosis, gastritis, intolerances, candida overgrowth :/ Doctors definitely won’t be able to help with these sorts of things. They don’t have the education or knowledge and will just throw pills at you that will make it worse. Better to look for specialists of the gut and microbiome, which can be difficult. I’m still trying to find the right person for all my gut struggles as well.

I’m sorry, at 46:50, after being finally prompted to discuss how to improve our microbiomes in a tangible way, this guy says ‘if you eat a lot of red meat, swap one serve of this out for white meat’. He then proceeds to gloss over this throwaway comment without so much as mentioning why one would do this, any studies this insight has been derived from, or anything else grounded in reality to explain this claim. Wtf, this guy must not be all that he claims to be.

Hello. So, what I want to do with this message is to simply show what the Gospel is. I am not trying to force my belief down people's throats. It's your choice whether you want to accept it. Please read the whole text. So, a question: Do you think you are a good person? If so, have you ever stolen anything, lied, looked lustfully, watched adult material? All of those are sins and anyone who sinned is not good(on God's standard). You, I and most( most because babies don't sin, and maybe specifically mentally Ill people) purely human beings have violated God's moral law. Since God is just, He can't let sin go just like that. So is there any hope? Yes, there is. Out of love and mercy, God became a human being, Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a sinless life and finally died on the cross to bear the punishment we deserve, we deserve to be punished because we have sinned. The reason why blood must be spilled for forgiveness of sins is because the life of the flesh is in the blood, in the Old Testament Jews sacrificed animals for sins but the sacrifice of animals were enough to temporarily cover some sins. (it did not allow forgiveness of sins, unlike Jesus's, it only temporarily covered them). Jesus is the Lamb of God, the ultimate sacrifice for sins which is enough for all sins that have been done, are done and will be done. Jesus was buried and rose again. His resurrection proved that His death was enough to pay our penalty, the penalty for our sins. Jesus paid our penalty and in order to accept the free gift of salvation from God, we must trust in Jesus's spilled Blood, His finished work on the Cross for our Salvation. And then your sins will be forgiven because of what Christ did, you will be saved. See: Romans 3:1 , Romans 3:23 , Romans 5:12 , Romans 6:23 , Romans 5:8-9, Romans 10:9-10 , Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV, John 3:16 KJV, Leviticus 17:11 , Ephesians 1:7 , Colossians 1:20, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 .

So there are no consequences for my sins so long as i accept Jesus? Sign me up!
@Navii-05
@Navii-05 7 ай бұрын
@@TheSaracen369 That is not how it goes. At the moment of salvation the person gets the Holy Spirit and is born again meaning a new creation in Christ. Such a person now NATURALLY wishes to not sin and tries to avoid it, this is a process and no Christian is sinless here on Earth. And what do you exactly mean by consequences? Hellfire? No, but remember what I wrote before this. But consequences still exist in the form of if you cheat on your wife then your relationship is ruined and such.

Kinross spends at least 50% of his time talking with superfluous information or admonitions, doesn't sound much like a scientist or someone who is equipped to educate--rather to propagate. If he's the best we got in the space this episode should have been half as long. I expect Kinross to turn up on another podcast soon he's leaning into his expert status so much and sharing his personal thoughts so readily when there's no science to back it up yet.
