I’ll keep my Speed Queen washer and my 20 year old Whirlpool electric dryer (that I can still buy parts and fix myself). I will buy a new appliance when I need it, not when it’s on sale. I’ve learned alot from this channel, keep up the good work.

How many gigawatt-hours will that WhirlPoop guzzle down that a DLHC5502 would have saved you? I have a few customers with home energy monitors that got one and are expecting between $200 and $450 a year saved in electricity. You're literally spending a whole dryers worth on the difference in electricity on that old tin can dinosaur and telling us you're being so frugal. 😂

I bought a new washer and dryer, kicking and screaming all the way. I loved my old Speed Queen and Maytag dryer, but they were damaged. We had purchased the Speed Queen as a refurb and it had only two buttons. It was basically on or off and you chose the temp. I wish I had never bought LG, I can tell you that. It took me awhile to figure out that Home Depot gave me the wrong model and now I have to live with square doors instead of round ones. But more importantly - do they work? Marginally. Cycles are too long. Have to clean constantly to keep from getting mildew in the rubber seal. I want to go back to a SMALL top loader but it's hard to find a small one. The new ones are too big for small-average women to reach the bottom.

Another discount is employee perks. Check with your HR to see if they are partnered with any factory direct websites. If you used to have it though another job, check if your log in still works. I bought factory direct from whirlpool for a little over half of retail. The down sides are 1. You have to pick it up your self from the warehouse and 2. no included recycling of the old unit.

I have a Electrolux front load washer that has been going since 2009. It did have a control board failure just before the extended warranty was up. No issues since I plugged it into a surge protector. I recommend a surge protector for anything with control boards.

Two weeks ago I walked into my local Home a depot and found the LG Washtower, the floor model, for $675! Yo know I purchased it. I had to pay for separate delivery and install it myself…but it’s a great deal! When asked, Home a depot said they were no longer selling that color anymore…I got the cherry red color! Plus I got the 5 year warranty for $150. What a deal…. Th same day I went to Best But Outlet and got a Samsung Bespoke countertop fridge ( with beverage center) for $909. It is basically new, a customer had it delivered but returned it…still quasi-wrapped and everything. It didn’t come with the panels but Samsung has a promotion where you get free panels…that’s a $430 value…my panels are coming tomorrow! I am going to purchase the Best Buy extended warranty plan for this as well! Great deals if you look!

Christmas (starting the 25th) is also a good time to shop for appliances. Any leftover blackfriday special models have to be gotten rid of, plus retailers & makers have want to clear out inventory before the year ends to make their financial statements look better.

Costco had some decent sales in my opinion. Just a flat $600 or $400 off, etc, depending on the price of the appliance. I am curious if the GE Profile pge29bytfs, with $600 extra off, at $1899 is a good buy. You get an additional 2% back using their card. 2 year warranty as well.

About Home Depot. I just got an LG Washer/Dryer combo WM6700HBA and the Heat Pump dryer DLHC5502B for $2115 delivered. List price for both is $3200. Washer wasn't available for Best Buy until November 20th and Lowe's didn't have colors that matched, so price might not be the only factor.

@@dregenius Homeless Deathspot DOES have the DLH5502B in Black Steel. The B is for Black Steel. This was the one purchased. Honeslty I would have taken white because they are usually more discounted, and I've heard the finishes rubbing off on Black Stainless, but oh well. Lowes can only get Graphite.

Hi Ben…..First off, Thank you for all you knowledge and showing is the ins and outs of appliances. You really do a great job. Ben, my wife just recently purchased a Frigidaire Upright Freezer 20cubic model FFUE2024ANE. The temperature display is shown outside the front middle of the door (single door freezer). The display has a temp button with a freeze boost button. When pressing down on the temp button, even for 3-5seconds nothing is showing on the display. Could there be a wiring issue??? I believe the door is able to swing left or right be changing the hinges at top and bottom for desire swing. It seems like there is no power to display but the freezer seems like its working. Any ideas???? Thank you Seb

We had a LG 30" LFC2277OST french door bottom freezer for 6 years and 9 months and it stopped working and everything lost its ability to keep things cold and frozen. Costco best warranty and service. In 2020 I bought Fridge,stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer dryer install for 4500.00. All Samsung items. Washer went bad in about 1 month. Called Costco replaced right away. Just over a year fridge went bad Called Costco taken care of right away. Then the stove same deal replaced right away. They were not the cheapest Samsung. But thank God for Costco. It the past I had to contact Samsung for help. What a joke. I was worried buying Samsung again but I knew Costco would be there. I was right. So far it has been good now with newer model replacement.

The issue with anything like that is that people see a huge-cap tub and think they can just pile it full of clothes and its gonna wash it fine. "HE" washers are not great on large loads. You have to have surface area to agitate the clothes, and what worse way to do that by piling in every cloth possible in the load?

In my area, all the Home Depot stores are incredibly slammed all the time, and the Lowes stores aren’t very busy. For that reason I used to prefer shopping at Lowes, it felt less rushed. See my other comment - I see why builders and pros aren’t buying there! They have become the Kmart of home stores now. I don’t shop there anymore.

LG applinces that don't have linear compressors aren't too bad. LG, prior to them, had fantastic quality. Even now, all the *other* components work well. But the compressors were/are just so bad the rest of the quality never mattered.

The answer is D. None of the above. Because it's a laborers holiday because unions fought corporate power to get us workers' rights, many were even killed by our own government for fighting for things we take for granted now, like a minimum wage, and, yes, the 5 day work week, which used to be 6 or 7 days depending on the job, as well as other things. If you don't believe me, look up the history of Labor day, don't take my work for it.

What about the NTW4516FW Amana at Lowe’s? The WT6105 is an LG. The other Amana available NTW 4519JW is out there too. I saw one at PC Richardsons. My current one is an Amana from 2012 or so. Very nice little machine. Tiny bit or rust now and needs new rods. Thinking about getting it repaired/spot treated instead of new. I would think the NTW4516FW would be most like it. The reviews on all these machines out there are all over the map. 😮

If you aren't vane and/or don't have the 'keeping up with the joneses' mentality, you can save a LOT buying from re-store businesses. 5 years ago I bought a used range/oven from Habitat re-store for $175 and it's working like a charm. 3 months ago I picked up a refrigerator for $300 to replace the used one I bought 7-8 years ago for $200, which was a freezer on bottom model that I began to dislike about a year ago...sold it for $100, so in reality in only cost me $100. Meanwhile, my neighbor across the street got a 'deal' on a new washer/dryer a couple years ago for $1800 (he bragged to me about being able to get it that 'cheap' as the original price was over $2000) and the washing machine is already giving them problems.

Can't recommend Best Buy for appliances. We bought brand new Samsung Bespoke washers- that were delivered in house as crated units in the laundry room that I would install. When I finally got around to uncrating the dryer, I found that there was a small crease- dent on the bottom corner of the faceplate. We then called the hotline - and had to deal with foreigner support. We had agreed on a $150 credit- and sure enough there was never any follow up credit/gift card provided to us from Best Buy.
