Did a search for toro snow blower repair. Your video was just what I needed. Took about two hours all in but it now works like a charm. Thanks for posting this video.

Great job fixing it yourself and saving a repair bill. Always gives me a great satisfaction when I can fix something that started out as broken. Glad this video helped. Thanks for watching. Cheers

After I watched this video, I removed only the bottom rear cover. Then I was able to get the lube stem of the blaster (or WD40) pointed into the spring opening, and the opening where the dogs are. This video was helpful to see where the lube needed to go and I did not need to disassemble everything.

Thanks for the video! Was able to squirt penetrating oil into the pull mechanism which freed it up, which saved me from moving the gas tank, and removing the housing. Now it starts with the pull cord with no sticking! Bring on the snow!!!!

Thank you kindly! My CCR 2450 wasn't engaging the dogs. I only pulled the back panel off and a quick shot of WD-40 freed the dogs up quickly! Thank you too for the clear teardown instructions. That answered a few questions for me.

Glad I could help. As for replacing the pull cord, I don't have a video on that specific machine but if you search my channel for "replace pull cord", there are a few videos on how to perform this. They are all pretty similar. Cheers

Excellent video!! Thanks for posting! Fortunately, this model has electric start that you can use until there is time for the repair. Starter draws 6 amps. Remember to use NMMA TC-W3 oil 50/1 for proper operation.

I'm about to replace my ignition coil and I thought I might as well replace the pull cord assembly while 8m in there. But hate to keep 5hrowing money at it.. but I can live it up for sure. Thanks for the video.

I stripped mine down a lot farther. removed all the chute gears and crank, fuel tank and complete dashboard. made it a little easier to move around, plus I know I am gonna have to remove the carb for at least cleaning if not replacement. took the muffler off right away and checked the piston for scoring. got lucky there

Great straight forward video. I've had trouble with this on my snowblower for years. Since something else is now wrong, I figured I'd try and fix this at the same time. Question: do you recommend WD40 to lubricate the spring and the dogs, or is there something else better?
@brantsmallenginerepairs
@brantsmallenginerepairs Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't necessarily recommend WD40 unless you buy the specialty kind that says "lubricant". I have had good success with PB Blaster and 3-in-1 products. If you're going to go out and buy something, I would recommend these products. If all you have kicking around is WD40, then it's better than nothing. You just might have to reapply more often. Cheers

What type of lubricating oil did you use?

I typically use PB Blaster but you can use whatever you have laying around. Thanks for watching. Cheers

Have you found the part # for this exact recoil? I can't find it at all.
@brantsmallenginerepairs

I don't have the machine anymore so I don't have the model number. If you type the model number and "parts diagram" into Google, you should be able to find the recoil part number. Hope this helps. Cheers

Being the lazy person that I am, do you think it's possible to get WD40 in where it needs to go once you get the gas tank out of the way? My pull string isn't catching so it would seem I need to get WD40 on those dang dog ears.
@brantsmallenginerepairs
@brantsmallenginerepairs 2 жыл бұрын
You could certainly try. It won't hurt anything if it doesn't go where it's supposed to. Good luck. Cheers

I love this blower, especially if you just want a smaller, single-stage snowblower. I own one personally and it has been great. Every piece of machinery needs some maintenance some times. Thanks for watching. Cheers
