Great tutorial! The fix looks great! Nothing worse than torn leather in the interior of the car.

Nice job! Top tip: on most cars the two front seat bases are a straight swap. Changing left to right hides the worn outsides by the centre console and keeps them (almost) away from more wear. And you get a drivers seat with less kilometres. But you have to do it before they're actually ruined.
@Vera_and_Christian2 жыл бұрын
We were kind of surprised that both seats are worn equally. They must have spent every single one of those 170000 km together in the car. That is love.😅👍 But as the adjusters are on the seats, no one that I know of has done a left to right swap.🤔 🙋♀️Vera

@@Vera_and_Christian That is love indeed❤️ Did a left to right swap in my Discovery 3 as the cloth seat started to wear on the drivers side. Good for a couple of more years more now.

Great tutorial on how to repair a torn seat. You made it look too easy Christian 👍. Many people (myself included) would not have realised how easy it could be. Very effective and extremely well colour matched. I honestly expected Vera would be the one showing us how to do the repair. Vera is a master fabric crafts person.

Very impressed at how easy you made that look 👍 My only suggestion would be to use high temperature contact adhesive next time to minimise the risk that it will come apart in hot weather.

The glue is for shoes and leather. I think temperature is ok. But maybe not in Arizona or Australia. Christian

A great job Christian, and not one "Oh my God!" In the whole video lol l have not seen UHU here in the UK for well over 30 years. Probably because of the glue sniffing craze in the late 80's and 90's when sales of volatile solvent based adhesive were made very restricted and as UHU was sold in small tubes and not tins here I suppose the makers stopped exporting it to the UK. (Tubes of Evo-stik disappeared from shop shop shelves at the same time but you could still get it by asking for it, if you were a responsible looking adult lol.) As a Church organ builder, we used normal UHU as a repair glue if we had to put new very thin sheepskin leather on pneumatic action motors and it worked very well.it's good to see it is still around.
@Vera_and_Christian2 жыл бұрын
UHU is still a household name and product here in Germany. However, special glue like that, you have to order online. Stores don't carry that anymore. Wow, an organ builder, that is impressive. We have a 17 year old son who is becoming a blacksmiths. He just build a cross for our local church, it was very impressive ( it was featured in one of the recent videos ). 👍💪🙋♀️Vera

@@Vera_and_Christian Sorry. :( The repair is incredibly well done. It's just that, I'd be very surprised if the glue survives several months of constantly flexing as people sit on it. Maybe, in a few months, give us an update of how it's doing?
