I'm type 2 diabetic. I USED to weigh 236. I'm now down to 180. My A1C went from 11.1 to 7.1 within 4 months. And I'm NOT taking anything! How? Exercise! Walking and weightlifting. I cut out Pepsi. I went from drinking regular Pepsi to Pepsi Zero, then to water. I also have a 10-hour job that helps cut back on eating and drinking. Both my physician and dilatation don't like that I'm not taking any form of insulin, but approve of the exercise, walking, and soda elimination. I have a checkup this Friday (Aug. 23), to see where I'm at. You HAVE TO stick with it! Don't quit! 🤟

I walk every night after dinner and my blood sugars are a lot better in the morning depending on what I ate for dinner. But the walk helps me tremendously to keep my sugar down. It's not always perfect mind you, but it works for me. Why do you say we shouldn't be exercising after dinner?

After being a diabetic for 3 years & on metformin, glipizide, long term insulin & short term insulin i finallly found something to reduce my blood sugar, JARDIANCE. Metformin, glipizide, short & long term insulin would only bring my blood sugar down to the mid-high 200s the majority of the time. Jardiance has brought me under 200 every day now. I just started Ozempic & it brought me down to 140s now. I am thrilled so far with Jardiance & Ozempic & hoping to lose weight as well. I started at 273 lbs before Ozempic 5 days ago so we will see where this journey goes! I sure am anxious to find out what it does for me!

Hi Doctor, is there any such thing as resistant starch? I have experimented with cooked rice left in the fridge for 12 to 15 hours then heated and eaten with veggies/lentils etc. As compared to a freshly cooked bowl of rice, I did notice lesser sugar spike in the left over rice. What is your view on this?

I had treatment for non-alcoholic fatty liver in May/June and was not allowed any medication during that time. I eat low carb and took 500 mg Metformin before, but was under high stress. My weight is normal. The fat around the liver was greatly reduced, but my blood glucose levels have been out of whack ever since. Between 12 and below 7 in one day sometimes is exhausting. I take 1 g of Metformin/day now, but I’m trying to bring it down faster. My GP is not really specialised in diabetes, so soldiering on with these tips.

I am learning on how to carb count and I am getting very confused because fruits and vegetables also contain carbs. I am a diabetic type two so I need like to understand better on what type of carbs I need to stay away from.
@SugarMDs
@SugarMDs 21 күн бұрын
Hey @chrystidao-nguyen9638, I suggest staying away from refined carbs, that spike your blood sugar quickly. Aim for also small amount of complex carbs present in whole fruits, veggies, and grains, as they're processed slower by your body. Watch my video on 'Carb Counting for Diabetics' for a comprehensive guide!

Zita Zone, Doctor is not at all negative. Diabetic medicine has lots of side effects. If you can manage without med, with your life style changes, food etc, that's fine. I am a t2 diabetic and I follow him religiously. Thank you doctor for your positivity.
