When I was in the 9th grade at about 5'6" my vertical was 25 inches. At my best a few years later at height 5'11" I could dunk a volleyball on 3 or 4 tries. I think if back then ,1986,if I had good instruction and a good workout geared solely towards increasing my vertical, I would have been able to 2 hand dunk. Someone that's respected like this young man is needs to get some instructional dvd s made ,I bet they'd sell like crazy. A lot of young players only care about that vertical leap. Lol,good video my man.

Haha I’m sure you would’ve been able to as well. If you were able to record that without any training then even some minor training would’ve unlocked your potential, probably could’ve gotten a 35inch vertical with serious training. And my whole KZbin channel is geared towards teaching young athletes this lol, so I hope they come my way!

Saw this guy in person yesterday, he is MAYBE 6ft tall and was legit throwing down tomahawk dunks off pure vert. No running, barely even squats when he jumps. Craziest thing I ever saw.

How many times a week do you even train for vertical
@AthleticEducation

Depends where you’re at in training, but 2x a week will be more than enough for beginners and intermediates

This honestly scares me for college. I wonder what the average experience for a high level track athlete is compared to what Dac went through because that's just ridiculous how they treated an ALL AMERICAN. Also was he loosely connected to the schools like a half transfer ? Do the scholarships change based on academic achievement to keep you connected to the school? Just wondering

I was also a college athlete and they are quick to get rid of you if they think you aren’t contributing, saw it happen to a lot of my teammates, and most athletes don’t get scholarships only the really good one. And yes scholarships do change based on academic achievement to a certain degree. If you go below a certain line (which is very low) then the school itself puts you on academic probation.

The vertical pad isn't the most accurate way to measure vertical. The hands-free head swipe method on the vertec can't be cheated. Daniel Kabeya hit 50" inches running, so he's the record holder. I'd like to see what this guy could do. Looks like he's at that level.

Hasan A. How do you cheat the pad? Also, I feel like unless you're _real_ strict, doing it with your head would he cheatable in similar ways, although with millimeters or centimeters gained instead of inches, as with the original version. One last thing, how do you get proper jump _and_ a proper head-swish on a Vertec? I haven't tried one before but is it _really _*_that_* easy?

The key is ridiculous genetics. Hard work plays a role but 99.999999% of people will never jump this high no matter what they do.
