@@chasepotter2376ok so just to clarify this is not “old school gear science” or whatever u quantified it to, this is 100% fact that the muscle gets the most blood flow with adequate hydration and carbohydrate intake, you on the other came with anecdotal evidence “I feel like” which is 0% fact it’s very basic science that when fasted you have less hydration in the muscles so regardless of how you “feel” or the “only time u enjoy” enjoyment and feeling has nothing to do with objective evidence of something so the fact is you are missing out on greater pumps and the fact that u ended with “or it’s because he is on massive amounts of gear” let’s me know how much of a beginner u are anyway..

I agree with almost everything except rest times. When you are trying to build muscle you should rest for at least two minutes, especially when working close to failure. My squat and bench went up only after increasing the rest time from 90 seconds to 3 minutes. The pump won't go away if you rest a minute longer. The better rest will help you lift more efficiently leading to bigger gains.

Arnold describes this in his book.... he says working out quickly with a lot of sets is better than dealing with heavy weights.... it's all about intensity and volume.... you can grow with 5 min rest every set to failure with heavy loads... and you also can grow with 5 sets 1 min rest starting with easy comfortable sets while your final set reaching failure or close to failure.... the second way is far more easy on the CNS, easily recovered, less injury prone, better pump, better fat loss, etc.... this is a LONG game that will last all your life.... so think about again.... as long as progressive overload is achieved, both can work....
@Ab-lifts10 ай бұрын
@@cheerfulheartdeepmind685how the second method is less taxing, it's clearly the first method. When you are doing multiple sets of same movement multiple times your CNS will be more fatigued. And coming to rest any set close to failure needs rest. You can even say that you need more rest in higher rep failure sets as your muscles as well as your CNS is more fatigued. Coming to reps in terms of hypertrophy 12 reps are waste. In 12 reps sets first 5 to 6 reps are waste. They don't give enough mechanical tension. So a 5 to 8 rep set is better. 5 sets 1 min rest is not at all equal to 1 set 5 mins rest.

To be fair it’s all in your mind if you want your arms to grow and focus on arms then arm day you will focus on pump more their vs when you do chest or back and make gains but you care more about how your arms look. Some guys might judge their physical attributes from if their legs are big. As long as I hit the gym and get better in my log I keep I have done a damn good job.
