Aiko did great. This is helpful. I will practice. Like a lot of people , I have hip and knee issues. I had a bad fall a few months ago and could not get up from the floor....despite trying a variety of different ways. Having some options and practicing them in advance is a plan. There isn't always someone around to pick you up off the floor!

Thank you for this excellent video, enormously useful for seniors! I haven't seen anything like it. I had been trying for some time to use a pillow to get up from the floor, but did it rather clumsily and maybe not safely. The way you break down the whole process in steps and explain how to use your stronger leg and arm is great. Now I will be able to do floor exercises again! (I am 78 y.o.) I was afraid to hurt my weaker knee but with practice I think I will manage all right. - Grace

Glad it's helpful. If you find yourself on the floor, the goal is to scoot on your bottom or get to an all fours position to be able to crawl to a solid object that you can grab onto for stability to get the strong leg forward so you can push yourself up.

Very useful video. I will practice this. I have a hard time getting up from the floor. Do you have any advice if there is no chair? I have fallen outside before.
@yes2next3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sarah! If there is no chair, the ideal situation is to crawl or scoot yourself to a solid object that is similar to a chair that you can hold on to for stability. The goal is to get to an all fours position and try to get your strong leg forward so it can help push you up to a standing position. Also, it is important to do exercises to help prevent falls and make you stronger in the event you do fall. Here are a few videos to help improve balance and strengthen your upper and lower body. So what exercises can one do to increase strength in parts of body needed to get up off floor
@yes2next Жыл бұрын
Thanks for this great question! Getting up from the floor requires strength in upper body (to push yourself up), core strength (to stabilize your body as you get up), and lower body (legs, glutes). It also requires flexibility in your lower body to allow movement of the legs. With all that said, we have specific workouts that target all these areas and All in One workouts that cover all of them. Here are suggested workouts for the Upper Body: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYq2f3dmhZeiaJI; Core: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5fRhHefnbamo9U: Lower Body: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZCzfKOwdsx6kLs; All in One: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fF6moGR-d5eMrLM We will add this topic to our list of videos to create. ❤️

My Mom has bad knees...I don't think she can bend one knee...now what? how does she get up if she were to fall?
@yes2next6 ай бұрын
We understand. Doing strength training to build muscle and practicing balance can help your mom prevent falling and give her strength to get up from the floor. She should only consider getting up if she is not injured or dizzy from the fall. If she feels strong enough and able to move, here is one approach to try: Roll to the side with the strong leg; Use the arms to get into a seated position. With both hands on the floor, scoot to a chair, sofa, stair or similar sturdy structure. Either facing the structure or having the back touch it, place both hands on it and use the arms and strong leg to push onto the structure. Also, planning ahead can be helpful: 1) With a friend or loved one, practice getting up from the ground or floor. 2) Carry a cell phone and/or wear a medical alert device to call for help. 3) Identify a family member, friend, or neighbor who can be called if help is needed; 4) Call 911 to get help. ❤️

is there any other way for someone who can not go on their knees
@yes2next10 ай бұрын
Hi there. One option to get up from the floor is to turn to your side, placing your hands on the floor and pushing to bring your body into a seated position. With your hands on the floor, scoot your way to a chair or sofa. If you can reach for a cushion, slide it underneath your bottom and lift your butt onto the chair or sofa. If a chair or sofa isn't nearby, scoot your way to a step on a staircase then put your butt on the lowest step and use your legs to push yourself up to a higher one. To strengthen muscles needed to get up and down to the floor, do our workouts for the upper body, lower body, and core. ❤️

Your body will tell you how to get up because the pain will stop you from moving the wrong way. You may move slow and this lady moves fast maybe because it's a video. I have to roll on my stomach lay there then see which hip will help me then I get the pain shooting down my back so I wait. Aging is real. So once you get up call you doctor get a dx if you don't have one already then go to physical therapy and start moving.
