Thank you for this video content. I listened to it earlier today before going to Trakai this afternoon. Great tip. I took the bus instead from Vilnius Stotis (bus station). It was around 38 miles or about 40 minutes (I used Google Maps GPS). The fare is 4.50 euros one way. The Trakai bus station to the castle is about two (2) kilometers away. There is a local small minibus that you can take to the castle if you do not want to walk. I took it for the experience to see where it ends. It only drives around 4 kilometers and then it turns around back to the Trakai bus station. Nice quiet town. I paid 12 euros to get into the castle. Lots of souvenir shops and restaurants.

Yes, that’s right, trains have a fairly large gap, so options with a bus sometimes really help, however I agree that it’s more comfortable and even cheaper by train!

I prefer the bus as it’s closer from the castle. Would love to get more info on what other things can one do apart from visiting the castle, also what are visiting hours and costs, if any. 😊
