My son is the number 7 ranked heavyweight in the country. He is a sophomore. How can I get him some daily workouts ? I heard great things about you. Please help! I don’t think we are getting the most out of his strength.

Bear crawls are what my coach makes us do as punishment lol. We do bear crawls zig zag down 3 mats before sprinting the track. He usually makes us do multiple laps. I wasn't into fitness until freshman year of hs when I decided to join the wrestling team. Didn't know how hard it is on the body lol.

How to wrestle when u didn’t in hs? A lot of wrestlers may or may not be aware, it’s the most gate kept combat sport in all of mma it seems 😅
@kaypie3112 Жыл бұрын
“Gate kept” ????? What do you mean?
@danielcorsino Жыл бұрын
@@kaypie3112 not really gate kept but just very hard to get the level of wrestling if u didn’t have an uncle or someone put you in as a kid, after 18 it’s like bjj, boxing, etc but wrestling seems to be tough to find out here really gotta look and even get on the phone and all this
@GideonSchmidt-ik8rp Жыл бұрын
@@danielcorsino sometimes they have wrestling days at bjj places. At my bjj gym they have wrestling on tuesdays and Thursdays. Maybe try there?
@danielcorsino Жыл бұрын
@@GideonSchmidt-ik8rp yep, some guys have gone out of country and even guys like Francis and ciryl gane have been invited to Dagestan. But yea it’s tough to get into I just have to have some good conditioning and some proper grappling all over to make up for stuff
@user-nq4hw5eb9d Жыл бұрын
@@kaypie3112 I’m pretty sure he means in the US there aren’r really any pure wresting or even wrestling heavy gyms. Best one I could find was maybe snake pit and some schools are now offering certain wrestling classes (1-2) a week, but for people that want to mainly focus on wrestling you missed the chance once you’re out of high school

Im so disappointed with my ground game and how terrible i am at it. My striking is phenomenal according to my coaches but once wrestling gets involved im like a helpless fucking baby. I almost want to quit mma and just do a striking art. But im not quitter

@tapiorajala1599 Жыл бұрын
i agree with you... for example sauna mentioned in the video.. yes wrestlers use it because it is proper way to drop weight before weigh-in, but it has nothing to do with power endurance.. that's just total bs...

@@tapiorajala1599what 😭😭😭😭😭
@Jacked_R_Us Жыл бұрын
@@tapiorajala1599Nah I'm sorry but what he said about the sauna is true. Sauna boosts your mitochondria which is what converts ATP for energy into kinetic movement. Creatine and Sauna can actually boost your performance obviously it's not going to give insane improvement. That's why we do strenght and endurance too.

Look at the training footage of Aleksander Karelin and then come again. He lifts weights a lot
@tylergoodwin3546 Жыл бұрын
lmao , wrestling has more to do with technique than strength. Also much more mental than physical. That whole yadda yadda can lift 110 kg at the 6 minute mark and While yadda yadda can only 90, and so therefore he will more likely lose cause the other can lift more at that point in the match come from a place of zero logic. I wrestled for 20+ years since age 4 under many different olympians and in division I/international competition for USA lol . Heavy lifting in general in not needed in wrestling, defiantly not squats and I'd honestly argue no weight lifting at all is needed. Just wrestling every day is all you need to do. Lift your partner. Get used to moving around people body weight not weights in the shape of donuts. I could take wrestler that's never touched a weight in his life and mold him into someone that would destroy anyone that you're training with weights, guaranteed. None of my Olympic level coaches recommend or lifted weights themselves and one was a heavy weight (Kerry McCoy).
