I literally bought boots for this. First thing in the morning. I Force myself out of bed. Put on boots, and make my bed. Day begins there. While waiting for coffee to brew, do a little work out. Pick out my outfit for the day, shower, dress and drink my coffee. Been working for 2 weeks now.

I think your method works, Tom M. I sometimes use your techniques to overcome laziness and fear of some un-interesting chores and difficult subjects like math, once I try it out for one or two minutes, I will not feet intimidated by its difficulties and will continue thereafter. Thanks Tom M. , It's a pleasure meeting you here. Good bye. 🀄🤣😱😸🐷🦨🦐🐧🧑🔬🏃🤘🎠🎳

I always feel guilty watching these videos for free! Again, an amazing video with a very recognisable topic. Tomorrow, school starts again but I still am in that 'break' mode; sleeping in, letting work go, all the usual. This just gave me that little kick I needed to get going and start the new period strong! As always, thank you!

You presented very important info in a compelling and understandable way. Thank you for calling us forth. All of us watching this video (and your channel) have a spark of hope inside, or we wouldn't be watching. Whether you call it the will to go on, the will to live, or survival instinct, it's a sign that you have not given up and there's more inside you than you think. You may be ready to answer some tough questions, "How is living (it's not your be-ing, it's what you're do-ing) in a rut keeping me safe? What/who do I need protection from? What other options could keep me safe?" I spend a few years in a rut, even though I looked very active. It was a mental/emotional rut that no one notice, not even me until after I climb out. What helped me is choosing some minimum boundaries and participating in something I liked or enjoyed every day. Take care, everyone! We're all in this life together.

Love this comment. And even when i may be in a little bit of a rut, watching some self improvement videos is something easy one can do when low on energy which you can then leverage to get you going again in the right direction 😊

Interesting video. I've just come out of a long rut, and now much more productive. I found that it helped to plan out the day in a notebook. List the essentials first followed by subsiduary and optional goals. Tick each goal off when completed. All those ticks at the end of the day provide the material "evidence" of your productivity. Thanks, Adam... I look forward to the next one❗👍🏼

I am myself in it at the moment and this is deeper juste being addicted to instant dopamine sources such as games, social medias or tv series. Those are just symptoms. The core problem might be a job or career that you don’t like or a series of failures, therefore feeling lost, trapped, stuck and like a crap. How build upon these failures or change job / career and to regain confidence, are the real question. Even if the ideas proposed in the video are not the solution, they help to put thing in place. It might be more complex to some people than other depending on the complexity of your situation, but it is always possible to achieve the best version of yourself with tons of work.

Rewards and praise do not work well for me. Not sure why. I respond best to intrinsic motivation. That said, I’ve started a stretching and walking routine. My body really needs it. Starting to feel better. It’s very slow going …

Hi. Thanks a lot for the video. I m currently in the middle of pulling myself out of the rut. For now I could be productive for one day, but the next day I could lie in bed all day with no energy (or motivation?). Could you please suggest what to do or how to manage energy so I can be consistently productive everyday, or at least during the weekday? Or am I too hard on myself? It seems that I expect myself to do high performance everyday.
@mymentorjane67053 жыл бұрын
I wonder if another way to frame the 'unproductive' day as a "restoring" or "replenish" or "refilling" day? If so, then you are living smartly and in the reality that being consistently productive every day is may be unrealistic for you, at least now or in this season of life. One suggestion would be to chart or record your cycle for a month and see if you notice any patterns according to your diet, sleep, people you're around, work you do, weather, etc. Another thought is that you might set up some boundaries about what you define as minimum and maximum productivity. IOW, a minimum boundary may be, get out of bed by x time, shower, brush teeth, eat x meals a day, talk to x #people each day. The max boundary may be something like, get no less than x hours sleep/bed time per day, work max x hours/day, spend max x hours on social media, devices, etc. Just some suggestions that support your individuality, protect and challenge you. Take care.

@@mymentorjane6705 Hi. Thank you for actually reading and responding to my question. And thank you for the wisdom. Those are really valuable insights for me, now I realized I can see things differently! I'm going to try the minimum-maximum productivity boundaries. It seems that I forgot to manage my recharging time properly. Again, thanks a lot. Wish you luck and success.

It simply can be a result of fatigue, burnt down and exhaustion. Or a sign of other health issues. Please consult with your physician before falling for these "pretty" self motivating videos and put extra pressure and responsibility on yourself that can make you worse. If you were doing well and were productive and now you are not, if you are struggling to do tasks that were coming easy to you beforehand, check your mental and physical health. Most times it is a sign for self care and rest rather than changing strategy.
