I changed my diet the last couple of weeks dramatically. Low carb diet, eggs for breakfast with guacamole, lunch a chicken salad, dinner perhaps either turkey burgers with broccoli with butter or something like salmon with cauliflower mashed potatoes and a veg. Snacks I’ll have some almonds, sea weed, parm crisps and/or kale chips. Keto ice cream for an after dinner snack. I try not to eat after that. I do apple cider vinegar with water twice a day. Lost weight since then around my belly.

Last summer I had a CT scan and when it's read they tell you everything that it show, even things not looked for. Two of those things for me were a severe fatty liver and severe coronary calcifications. Now I needed to lose weight but I carried it well and nobody would have said, "Oh my God, he's fat." But I was trying to lose weight with what I thought was a healthy Standard American Diet (SAD) eating lots of fruits and veggies, riding my bike 20 miles a day and I did lose weight--then it stopped and I actually gained some back. I discovered keto not long after that CT scan and started on it in earnest and in less than 2 months I had lost 40 pounds and my belly fat so my hope is that when I get another CT scan this summer that it will show my severe fatty liver is either gone or much better which is why I'm returning to fasting 2 days a week just to be sure it's good (I'm currently 36 hours into my 40 hour fast and so I'll eat in about 4 hours. My feeling is that I could eat now, feeling empty, but I don't feel starving or hungry as I would have on SAD).

In my experience, the only effective anti stress methodology is in the living Word of God -- the bible. There is nothing that the creator of you (and this universe) can't handle. (Think about it.) Faith is trusting that God is who He said he is, and that He will give you peace. He wants a relationship with you, ...that is the entire purpose of our lives...to have a relationship with our creator who made us in His image. He is knocking at your door..invite Him in.

I started a new healthy living life style about six weeks ago. It includes intermittent fasting (no breakfast, eat between 12pm-8pm only). Low carb diet (but not keto). Try to keep under 100g of carbs per day. No sweets, no sugary drinks/juice, no bread, no starchy vegetables. Lastly, I do at least 20 minutes of moderate exercise every day. More on weekends. Lost 18 pounds in first 19 days.

Inflammation in the body is the villain not cholesterol. Reduce inflammation and you reduce the damage in your body. Cholesterol is important for body function if you do not eat fat your body has to produce it which is not as good as the good fats you can choose. It is important to know the size of LDL. The small LDL is damaging not the large ones. Like beach ball vs golf ball. If you throw a beach ball against the wall it does not damage but a golf ball will danmage the wall. It is the same in the body with large and small LDL to the visceral wall. Great video’s, just found your channel.

Drinking a beer while watching this, DOH! I don't drink much, about a drink a day, so I don't think it's a problem. It's my reward after a one hour Zwift ride in "Austria" with a 1400' climb. Hard to get 1400' of elevation change here in the relatively flat midwest, so I get my climb training in the winter when I ride virtually. We have a family history of mature onset type 2 diabetes, but can manage it with diet and exercise. My grandmother is still alive at 97. Bottom line, good tips here. Especially the last one, reduce stress and get a good nights sleep as much as one can.

It was really strange, but I’m starting to get a bunch of things done before eating. It was a good feeling to get some things done before breakfast! I think I’m going to try it a few days a week and see how that goes. There’s a lot of prep work when you eat low-carb, and this would mean starting dinner so much earlier

Good video. Growing up I was taught that juice was healthy and that oils should be used in place of butter, tallow and lard. Find it amusing frankly how backwards everything was. Still have an old school textbook from when I was around 14 years old that had a section about correct way of eating( 40 yo today, swede). It's complete junk information and my teenage self studied that info. Have some sections of garbage information I had underlined in the book as I was preparing for a test. Funny reading it now. For example a couple recommendations the book had was for a teenager to eat 6 slices of bread per day and avoid saturated fat. Bread was hailed as some sort of super food almost. Drinking milk you should choose 0,5% etc.

@@HealthCoachKait Yep indeed! Like I said it's a funny book. So many stupid health ideas that we stuffed into our little teenage brains based on that book. :) Here is the 6 slices of bread page( hopefully possible to link an image) linkpicture.com/q/20201019_234327.jpg The text to the picture says "this amount of "core foods"( not sure how to translate) is suitable for most people. As a teen you are growing and moving a lot. In order to get enough energy and nutrition you should eat more of "core foods"( meaning the illustration, goes into detail on the page about how they are a good foundation of your diet since they are healthy and cheap). Only thing you have to make sure not to eat to much of is fat." The chapter also starts by showing a picture of a family eating bread. Some black and white old photo. The caption says something about bread having been an important part of nutrition for a long time blablabla. :D Good info right?

Fasting did it for me. I took meds for it and still struggled. Did IF and rarely have problems. I was so worried about fasting because when I'd get super hungry before I could feel the acid churning.

Same! Sugar= heartburn, swap for sugar free items and stevia instead of sugar when baking. It makes a difference ☺️❤️

I wonder too. I've had heartburn since I was a kid. I also had a huge sweet tooth. I had less heartburn when I ate whole foods and basically vegan. I couldn't have meat for other health issues but she recommends it here.

Kait, have recently found you on KZbin. Visceral fat is something I struggle with, and I despise it. Have decided on a low carb, low sugar approach. It’s working for me 😉

Thank you for your videos! They're very well done and very informative! I really appreciate understanding about visceral fat and how to get rid of it. My husband has had quite a bit of it but has lost almost 20 lbs and much of that weight has come off his belly. We have a Bowflex and a very good treadmill which we both use and these have really helped especially since, with Covid, most gyms have been closed. I have had us on an intermittent fasting type keto diet for the past two months and this has also helped us a lot. I just discovered your videos today, so I'm happy to see and hear that I've been doing the right things for our health.💖 I'll keep watching!

I have never known that table sugar is 50 percent fructose. Your videos are very helpful to me. I feel informed and equipped with real information to make some changes that previously I wasn't aware of, or made excuses for. Giving up pop is major for me. Always go cold turkey and quit, then in about 3 weeks time I am back up to 3 pepsis a day. This really helped. High fructose corn syrup is the first ingredient listed on the pepsi bottle, so I know, I know I know.
