I love my M6 II. I use it when I'm traveling, hiking, going to parties, and more. The size is perfect and I always appreciate Canon ergonomics. I'm sad that it is now obsolete (not the camera, but the mount), but I have enough lenses to do just about anything that I need to do. And yes, the Sigma lenses are the bomb.

I bought mine new a few years ago. Other than the limitless recording in the new Canon cameras, my M6 Mark II smokes most of the new Canon R line. It is IMHO the most underrated camera that is still a very viable camera, even for professional work.

A big thanks from Hong Kong! I bought mine like 5 years ago but I started using it till this year with my new lens (22mm f2.0, 32mm f1.4, 56mm f1.4). They really release the full potential of my M6 II! (The kit lens disappointed me a lot) Would you recommend the EF or EF-S lens on this camera? I'm looking for a good quality zoom lens.

The Canon M wide angle zoom ( 11-22 )has IS and is very highly rated. A bargain especially second hand. It’s also small. It’s my standard on camera. For a laugh I used the large 70 to 300mk 2 EF and the adapter. It focused instantly and has huge reach. Not sure how long the battery lasts with it on but for wildlife it’s amazing. The older standard M zoom (18 to 55) is far better built than the new kit lens and very cheap second hand. The little 55 to 200 is useful as a light carry around too. It’s not super sharp at the edges but does have good central imaging which is useful for things like compressing mountain ranges. The 18 to 150mm zoom is supposed to be better at edge sharpness and a good all rounder. For travel I take the 11-22mm zoom the tiny 22mm as it’s great for street work and super sharp and the 55-200mm for its reach and light weight. In many respects you have already got the best prime lenses for stills, the Canon 32mm is easily the sharpest M lens and keeps its value. Very desirable and even better than the great Sigma 30mm.

A very underrated camera. I didn’t like Canon’s decision in discontinuing this line. Good in depth info.

I've always been a big fan of the M series. I don't know if there's anyone else out there like me but when I'm not making money shooting, it's hard for me to get into my pelicans and lug around a "real" camera. The M6II makes shooting fun and it's small footprint make traveling with it a no brainer.
@AndrewKnepperАй бұрын
Yeah it's a shame they discontinued the EF-M lineup because it's so useful having a small portable camera! The M6 Mark III would have been amazing...

I suspect the pandemic ended Canon's M-series. I carry my M6mkii for street photography with very small and optically perfect Leica M-mount lenses. I find that setting the focal range like a rangefinder lets me grab quick shots in the moment. The flexibility to program all the dials and buttons really lets me set the camera up for stealthy shots!

Have an R7 that I shoot with normally, but was super disappointed canon's current lineup didn't have anything that felt good for travel/street photgraphy. Picking up one of these today with the 22m and I am stoked
@AndrewKnepper6 ай бұрын
Nice! I definitely want the R7, but I'm keeping the M6 II for the foreseeable future since it's so portable and honestly great quality with that 32mp sensor!

Hi! I've watched a couple of your videos and I'm convinced by your experience I have a question. I currently have a M50 Mark II with the Sigma 16mm and only use them for guitar covers I'm already convinced that I don't need to change the lens for the Sigma 30mm but my big question is if I should change my M50 for a better camera to get better video quality and facilities like connecting the camera to the computer for streaming Thanks for the video and thanks in advance if you read my comment!
@AndrewKnepperАй бұрын
Hey thanks for watching! The Sigma 16mm and the Canon M50 Mark II is a great combination! If you're not already, I'd recommend using manual settings, as well as work on your lighting if you're looking for better quality. A good quality main light and some backlighting goes a long way! And using manual settings is a great way to get the most potential out of that camera!

Im just a beginner in photography. Video wise, How is this canon compared to iphone 15? Which one is better?
@AndrewKnepper3 ай бұрын
I believe overall the iPhone will get good results, but a Canon camera, even a beginner camera will give you the ability to grow and get better results as you learn better techniques and upgrade lenses!

If your using a sigma 30mm 1.4 art ef lens with a speedbooster it essentially will give you the same fov as the 22mm pancake but with a max aperture of around 1.0 or 1.2

Same! my favorite thing to do with My M6 Mark2 and M50 is adapting vintage glass. I use an ef to ef-m speed booster plus either an ef to m42 or ef to FD adapter(both by Viltrox)... lets me use over 20 of my vintage Canon FD, KMZ Helios and Carl Zeiss sonnar/jena lenses... I almost never use modern lenses

It's a great camera, but when filming 4k, it overheats after 30min or say.

Hmm I haven't recorded 4k that much, so I haven't run into that issue, but that seems to be a common issue with many cameras especially Canon 🙄
