I almost always get under a bigger and stronger opponent. About half a minute after the match starts, I will be underneath them. Usually in side control, sometimes in mount, but always getting choked out...

Yep, I feel that. U still training? If so do you still end up getting choked by bigger guys?

You have no idea how hard it is to do when they want to run from you

@mattrange2126 Hi Matt. Sorry for the late response, but I'm sort of hit or miss with KZbin. Yes, I'm still training. As for getting choked out by bigger guys, not really, but it kind of depends. If we are similar in skill, it doesn't seem to matter too much, but if they are more experienced, I'm in for a hard roll (harder than usual, lol). If my opponent is less experienced, it's not really an issue. I might not be able to submit them if they are much stronger than me, but I don't really have to worry about them being able to submit me.

Need to watch this 3x in a row to drill this into my head. Love the way he goes back and forth between upper and lower body depending on their reaction. I literally never think about this.

This reminds me of the way Neil Melanson approaches K Guard. Very cool to see someone else come to a similar idea with a different system and in gi no less. Looks like a good instructional.

The title of the video puzzled me a bit. A do Japanese Ju Jitsu and get underneath a bigger and stronger opponent all the time with zero effort. The guys get ippons for that and I get stuck in side control. We call it a takedown.
