I also brew my own beer so I'm familiar with the sanitization process but sometimes its easy to forget a simple step. Have been using a food safe no rinse sanitizer I use for brewing to prep my small containers and liners with and good success so far. Peace ✌

Nice comment. I was kinda sparked when you said you brew beer and used food grade non rinse sanitizer for your tubs. I make wine and use Sulfite tablets to sanitize my wine making gear. Is that what you were referring to? Appreciate any tips you might have. Beer brewing is more exacting than wine when it comes to sanitation so just wanted to see what you use. Mush appreciation.

Hey great content! I just bought a 5lb bag from mushroom supplies and B+ isolated spores from ITW. Im gonna set the bag up in my closet. My thermometer says it’s 72 degrees in there. Would you recommend putting a heating pad under the bag? And if so would you introduce the heating pad immediately after injection or when the mycelium spreads? Just looking for your advice. Keep up the good content. Edit: also if you don’t mind…. Would you inject the entire syringe into that 5lb bag? Kinda thinking about it. Love the videos! Do you (or anybody that you know) check the PH levels of your substrate before you add spawn? I’m sure I’m overthinking it since most spawn appear to be quite strong when they’re ready to birth. But it’s my first time going the monotub route and just wanted to make sure I’m not underestimating the sensitivity of spawn. Many thanks!
@Mycophilia Жыл бұрын
Nope never have with coir, the only time generally when you should be checking your pH is if you make your own casing layer, which is something done for exotics. Since you’re new just don’t worry about casing layers, not necessary at all for coir lovers.

@Mycophilia Жыл бұрын
It depends on the contamination. If it’s trich or penicillium mold, I would harvest it as long as it’s not growing on there. Other types of molds, I would not harvest. It’s really a case by case basis. If a tub smells funky due to bacteria or yeast, I would harvest them but make sure to boil them well before eating, just to be safe.

Because I trust your methods and experience I have a question that I can't seem to get a consensus on. My grain bag is just about completely spawned (I'm at about 26 days since inoculation) but I have some travel plans coming up. My spawn is ready now but my concern is that if I go to the next step and transfer to my tub, I will be away when its time to put my tub into fruiting conditions. My ideal solution would be to leave everything as is, in the grain bag until my travel is over (7 more days). My questions is, how long can I let the spawn hang out in the grain bag?

Just trying to see if I can salvage this grow. I did not expect it to take this long. Whoops

@@ArtsyPrettyPlants Wellpers, you’re wrong on two accounts. I pay for KZbin Premium, so you could say it’s not exactly free, but I know what you mean. You can for sure organize all the videos into categories you create, and then put them in whatever order you want in any of those categories. Nothing “garbage” about it. I’m looking for specific content. It should not be that difficult to find if this is what he does. The video title says “how to grow….”, yet it doesn’t tell anything about the process. It’s misleading, or just false. I assume if he has this, then there has to be one that’s actually a how-to.
@ArtsyPrettyPlants10 ай бұрын
@shaneh1003 You do have a point about the title. I suppose An IntroductionTo Growing Mushrooms at Home may have been more appropriate. But I personally very much appreciated the introduction conversation because it's an intro to a series and now I know exactly what to expect for the upcoming videos. It's exactly what I'm looking for. And yeah, I forgot about "Playlists", but that's because KZbin's interface is garbage. It's compete garbage, as a user/searcher- especially. But also for someone making video content. That's Google for ya.
