There's a woman at work who constantly flirts with me but I have no interest in her. Noticed that alot of young people responded. Im 62 and have felt the sting of gossip all my life. Im quite and keep to myself but gossip always seems to follow me. I've lost friends, jobs and family members because of their belief in hurtful gossip. I feel sad, alone and unloved. No one wants to hear how I've been hurt... Katie, what has happened to you has happened to thousands of others so do not think it is you alone. Believe in yourself and your values and do not let malicious tongues destroy your self confidence. It happened to me many years ago and although 99% was pure lies it hurt and it is still painful. Sad thing is that those with the most vicious mouths and minds were doing it to take the spotlight off their own behaviours. Worse still they were teachers - passing on their ways (subliminally) to the very people they should have been caring for - children.

You don’t have to worry about those people or that “friend”. What you need to focus on is you. Work so hard and excel so much that they become BENEATH you. If you’re are student, focus on getting perfect grades, multiple large scholarships and things that will help you shine. It will be a slap in all of their faces when they see how well you are winning. The words will hurt but the power is in ignoring it.

I live in australia and workplace bullying seems to be a STANDARD and accepted part of culture here, ESPECIALLY by 'management'. Malicious gossip has caused me a lot of stress and depression. The stupid thing is it's usually started by one person who spreads it, then before you know it a whole bunch of people have an opinion about you based on one person's opinion who's wrong to begin with! People can end up being totally ostracized within a workplace. Gossip is TOXIC POISON and a very understated type of bullying.

Dealing with this at work. My co-worker is spreading rumors about me and telling all the newbies at my job not to speak with me. He's mad because I put him in his place now he's out to gather a group of supporters to ruin my good name. I'm not quite surprised at his actions as he suffers from EXTREME low self-esteem and is simply intimidated. I know that there will be a day when everybody will see right through his gossiping ways.

You would think that after a certain age, people would stop acting like it's high school. I used to be best friends with someone on my collegiate rowing team. A lot of weird things happened within our friendship. Feelings got incredibly confused and we eventually started fighting. People on our team were picking sides. I heard she was going around making a mockery about me. I got mad, retaliated vivaciously, and she told on me to higher authorities in our college. We had a nasty school case against each other. After 6 months of this case, nobody got in trouble and both of us were let off the hook. I went out with my friends the other day to a bar. She works at that bar. And then when a friend of mine walked in to hangout, right before he talked to me, she jumped in front of me and grabbed him. One of my friends can read lips, and she found out that they were talking about me. Now that one friend that walked in and got snatched up by my ex friend won't even talk to me. Can't believe my ex friend can't get over stuff. Didn't know we were still 5.

Your reputation is not as important as your character. Your reputation is what others think about you. Your character is who you are and it allows you to be respected by those who know you, despite what people are saying or thinking. The old adage that actions speak louder than words is true. Worry about your character and how you carry yourself. Be as honest as possible and if you must say something negative, give the benefit of doubt, don’t exaggerate or take it out of context. If you said something that came back to haunt you, you’d want the same and when given the opportunity to tell the truth, you should. Most often when someone repeats something about you or something you say they may also exaggerate or take it out of context. When it comes out, (always assume everything you say will come out/be repeated). This is an opportunity for you to set the record straight. People will side with who they relate to or it will allow them to move past the dishonesty much easier than if you continue to lie and your honesty allows them to move past that - we’re all vulnerable people. We all make mistakes.

I blocked a colleague because I realised she was envious and too curious about my life, and then she asked me in front of everybody why I had blocked her. Discuss the whole gossip completely with people who are simply enjoying talking about you, do not hide, and then add something back in that rumor about the person who really spread it in the gossip and then it will go back to that person who spread it with multiple force. Also tell people the Guy who is spreading rumor is the biggest liar of the world

It doesn’t hurt. It’s gross that people would actually believe that they are winning by lying. And I also found out the reason they try to keep you in this repetitive cycle is because they want to fluctuate your emotions. What eventually will happen is they will become emotionally unstable and incapable to function in life by wishing that on you. Things will start to hit the fan because they wished that on you. My entire town is a bunch of gossipers. My husband works 50 miles away from our small city. They hired a dude as a helper from here. That dude was telling him they are saying that he ran over someone at 5am in the morning. Like, wtf? Oh, and he’s a vampire with dead bodies in his back yard. I seriously don’t know how these people FUNCTION with brains like this.

For a long time i wondered if gossip even goes on in the company i work in because ive never heard anyone gossip among each other or to me. But my best friend knew about every single one? Why havent i ever heard it? Turns out no one gossiped to me or in front of me because they know I dont engage in it... Or im not interested to spread the rumor. People will gossip around those they want to believe them or worse... Engage in it and spread it... Cause its more fun. Thats their goal.

No, it’s not going to go away. I have someone spreading false rumors about me for 9 years now . When one rumor dies down, she comes up with something new. So no, ignoring it isn’t going to work. I’m ready to bring a defamation law suit onto her .

Thankfully the truth (and God) always stayed by my side in these types of situations. I am very successful at my job, and gossip about me is always going around. But the truth shines so bright everyone always finds out my true character and want to me my friend lmao

MD, Thank you very much. I am dealing with a toxic person that is constantly gossiping and talking about me. I think she is angry because I have become the trainer and that was her position. I am going to get a copy of the employee handbook and see how they want these situations handled. I don't want to file a formal complaint and have gotten some great tips from you and other vids. again. Thank You. BV

I was a Game keeper. My job was to look after game. deer trout Game birds etc. On catching some folk stealing this game. they were reported to police. and were reprimanded . They then set about telling falsehoods about myself to who ever would listen. the gossip spread far and wide, some folk stopped speaking to me even. they told lies after lies, and even added more as time went on. and there is nothing I can do about it. I am sure other keepers have had the same problem.

This is what's happening to me right now the lady across from me is saying I'm a pervert when I'm home I play games read books and did a interview for coding class trying to get a skill or certified I want to find a job I love and not wake up hating to go to a job like Costco I would wake up at 4 in the morning and leave around 12 pm afternoon time the reason I left is because the front end boss which wasn't my boss would always be on my tail always telling me what to do when my real boss would say don't listen to him. But he would say if you don't listen I'm going to write you up. I was new as well the hardest worker is what they told me so I just did the job and went home and worked our than would sleep from a long day. I'm trying to turn my life around man but negativity is every where I go. So that why I stay in the house more as well. This world is crazy man. Now I hear them talk about guns and stuff I meditate as well just crazy stuff man I watch my niece and little brother I give them what they want and love listening to what they want to tell me. Im gonna share my story When im on school everytime I go to school they always spread bad rumors about me and tell this to my other friends everytime I say my classmates huddling or making a group without me i feel like they are talking about me tbh my mind is like saying "I want to die" over and over again. About my "friends" they always whisper and look at me tbh I only have 5 friends in the whole school we are in different class or section (IN THE PHILIPPINES) they sometimes "care" and sometimes they dont I wanna say this to all of you whose out there reading this comment I just wanna say I need REAL friends whose always out there for me Sorry for my bad English I dont master english yet

I moved to a really small town, was polite and courteous to everyone...I live a private life. Every morning I walk to the corner gas station to get my morning coffee. I find out that the ex stripper who works there is telling everyone I am a pedophile. What would posses someone to do this? I am genuine and sincere and love to help people because it makes me feel good to do so. I don't understand how someone who knows nothing about you could say this. So, thank you for your video. That rumor is so far from the truth it is laughable.

Good video. Can you do a video on how not to feel bad when someone calls you ugly. My self esteem is low because Ive been called ugly my whole life.
