My old rabbit rip cookie tolerates being picked up for 20 seconds then all hell would break lose he bit me a few times too. Most of the time it was to groom him like pick him up before placing him on my lap or to check for dried poop. He even bit my hand once when he thought it was food as it had the smel of the greens I loved him tho

Bunny mothers dont pick up their babies by the scruff because their teeth are too sharp and they would kill their babies. My rabbit spends hours every day with me on the sofa and follows me everywhere and still doesnt like to be picked up or held. If your animal has boundaries you should respect those boundaries

I mean it's not like everybun is willing to be picked up. No matter how much treats you give them, they'll run away fast when they realize your hand scooping their butt lol... when somebun is OK to be picked up, you don't need to wait for their confirmation. Just know your buns.

my rabbit Blueberry (RIP ://) would only like being held like a baby even though it injures rabbits!! i love Blueberry so much but my cousins dog killed him! currently saving up for rabbits again though because they’re truly amazing creatures. I’ll probably be about 13-14 when i get more (i had Blueberry from when i was 9-11) so i just have to wait another year or two till i can get more 😭 Babbit and Bibble are the names i have!! Babbit is for sure because i know i’m getting at least one, but if i get another one i’ll name it Bibble :))

If you show rabbits you pick them up by the scruff of their necks, it’s pretty effective and doesn’t hurt them, so that’s how I pick up my rabbits
