Looking forward to your lunar new year celebration menu ! ❤

Korean people eat a wide variety of foods during Seollal, the Lunar New Year. The representative dishes include Tteokguk (rice cake soup), Galbijjim (braised short ribs), Korean pancakes, Nokdujeon (mung bean pancakes), Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), Mandu (dumplings), and various Namul (seasoned vegetables).... I have already made videos about these foods, so please click the link below. Thank you for your interest in my channel! www.youtube.com/@chungskfood8931/videos

Can I use all purpose flour instead of potato flour? Or corn flour?
@chungskfood11 ай бұрын
I add potato starch to the fish cakes to make their texture softer and chewier. If you don't have potato starch, using cornstarch is a good alternative. Thanks for the good question!😊🥰

Can we use corn starch instead of potato starch?...and can we freeze the dough in shape as we want..
@chungskfood8 ай бұрын
Sure, you can substitute cornstarch if you don't have potato starch. I haven't tried freezing the fish cake dough, so I can't give a detailed answer on that. I usually fry the fish cakes, cool them, and then store them in a Ziploc bag in the freezer. Thank you!😊🙏

Can it be made with tilapia fish? I think that's a type of white fish. A lot of others are not available near me. Fish cake is hard to get here without traveling far so I'm looking to make it for teokkbokki
@chungskfood7 ай бұрын
Yes you can! It's even more delicious when made with tilapia fish. Thanks for the good question! Happy cooking!😊🥰👏
@elithluxe75687 ай бұрын
@@chungskfood thank you cause I just got back home from purchasing some. I ended up getting a whole tilapia fish and I don’t know how to skin it. I can try but I think it would be difficult. Is it okay if I use it with the skin left on or would that leave an odd taste in the fish cakes?
@chungskfood7 ай бұрын
@@elithluxe7568 Oh, I see! It's probably best to remove the skin from the tilapia before making fish cakes. While the skin is rich in collagen and good for your health, it can affect the texture and taste. I've only used fish with the skin removed, so I can't give a definitive answer. Sorry about that!
