I've never fished with live crawdads but I always wondered, if I did, how would be a better way to rig them than through the tail. That is awesome Gene! Just so I'm clear though...no weight, just the hook and crawfish, free line it? And I guess the rods I use for my drop shot and shakey heads will work?
@RichardGeneTheFishingMachine8 жыл бұрын
+Bryan Reid Thats right, no weight the crawfish will go 15ft deep quick just by flipping its tail. And your shakey head rod will work perfect!

Thanks again. I used to work for Guntersville Fire Department but moved to Atlanta in 1991 and just started fishing again. I fished a little FD tourney on Weiss last year and got a reminder how quick that lake can get shallow on a man!

I just learned how to get crawdad here.. but from shore.. I tried a couple days.. and landed 0 fish.. do you have to be on the fish for this to work? and how long will a craw stay alive if I hook it in tail and cast it out and recast it ect.. mine seemed to die or get lethargic really fast. I want to learn how to catch with the craws though.. they seem to get a lot better quality fish then my plastic worms.. but ya it took a bit to find the crawdad. cuz I kept dropping them back in when trying get them out the rocks... anyways gl out there.

Thank u for your timely reply . I love your videos my friend Mike
@mrsvoy7 жыл бұрын
Thank you. That was very informative. It's given me a new way to hook those smaller and softer shell crawfish. I usually just hook them in the pointy shell between the eyes. However, sometimes, I would feel the bite but the crawfish would be stolen before I could set the hook. Do you ever have this problem with the ruberband?
@RichardGeneTheFishingMachine7 жыл бұрын
Thank you mrsvoy! With this technique I never loose the crawfish!
