a big thing that we forget about food habits is, our current culture and food habits that has been passed down from the era where the food purity was much much higher. Not to mention most people were physical workers(farmers and stuff). They didn't have tech jobs that force you to sit at a place all day. Even a few hours in gym cannot make up for the decrease in food quality and daily physical labour. Since we cannot just quit our jobs to go back to manual labor jobs, just to make up for all the food we are eating, we have to make changes in the food. We ARE NOT what our forefathers were. I am just saying this, simply because i do not wish for any of the fellow indians to get offended when the meal is questioned. Yes we are used to fat, and taste, and a lot of carbs, and stuff, but unfortunately our current life style is not suited for that kind of indulgence anymore.

I am from East India... my whole life till 24 years.. I had used "sambhur".. In a random video.. a tamilian corrected to "saambaar" .. I practiced and now it's part of my vocab ... in fact I teach others as well.. Bdw this mistake is purely because of lack of knowledge... not ignorance.. I myself, didn't had any idea till 2018.. 😅

The advice is against the protein powders that have fillers in form of added sugars and that may have contamination of heavy metals. Good quality protein supplements are good for health if we are unable to meet our daily protein needs. I take protein powder daily along with eggs, chicken and paneer to have at least 80 grams of good protein without going overboard on daily caloric budget. We indians forget to get the nuance of anything.

Hi, I personally would advise to increase carbs, good fat in forms of nuts etc and more protein rather than only increase oil or lots of ghee as that can lead to accumulation of visceral fat in body.

To gain weight, I'll advise to focus on gaining muscle. Go to the gym or buy resistance bands, keep a high protein diet. Consume moderate carbs near the workout window. And keep a slight calorific surplus. You'll do great.
