for cutting stainless steel braided sleeve, I use aviation snips. I got mine for about $16 at Home Depot. They're strong and sharp, they grip the material, and the blades don't separate. Nothing else in my house or shop cuts the material as well or easily. With aviation snips, trimming the ends would take about 20 or 30 seconds each.

I've used this stuff in the past. One issue is if it's going into a car you work on regularly, just skip it altogether. Because once you get grease and grime on this stuff, there's really not a good way to clean it. Then you eventually get areas that start to get frayed.

Could you use a high quality light oil for example "firearm oils"? Engine heat would not react because of how hot guns get. At least I would think. Someone pls let me know. Thks

Oils will attract dirt just be patient and squeeze it a little bit at a time 👍
