Thanks for this video, really appreciate it. I used it to change my air filter on my 2020 gen. 5. I found out there’s no need to disconnect any of the plugs except the one up front near the steering damper. 👍

Thx Man! It still took me forever to unplug the 4 injectors. Tip for that center screw is also very helpful!
@SirREM4 жыл бұрын
Yes took me a while to get them as well. Glad the tip helped.

All that work for a 10-sec filter change lol. Try sprint air filter. Apparently, Moto GP bikes use them. I ordered one today-pretty pricey but good reviews. P08 F1-85.

any gains or feel the bike performs better?
@SirREM6 жыл бұрын
I hope to have the bike re dynoed before the end of the year. Yes it has way better mid range then before at least it feels that way.

this compared to a sprint filter f1-85 or p16

Not sure, just seemed like one of the better ones out there at the time.

How long does it take to do the whole Job? Is there anything to watch out for that I could break if I lose my patience!!!
@SirREM5 жыл бұрын
I do not recall the exact amount of time but it was somewhere between 2-4 hours. The only thing is unplugging the fuel injectors. I used a really small screw driver. Everything else was pretty easy.
@ashinoz115 жыл бұрын
@@SirREM with the small screw driver what was the trick to getting them out?
@SirREM5 жыл бұрын
@@ashinoz11 It is like a tab you have to push in to unplug them.

@@SirREM push up or down? Is it like the electrical connections that clip in? Some you squeeze others you lift. Unbelievable amount of work to do an Air filter! This is my first Kawasaki
@SirREM5 жыл бұрын
@@ashinoz11 It is like a regular electric connection only really small so not really up or down more like sideways. Like pushing a larger electrical connector. Yes it was a lot of work. I am doing it again this winter to clean the filter and re oil it for this coming season. I am dreading it :)

The gas tank has to be empty to take off the 2 hoses right?
@SirREM6 жыл бұрын
I emptied out most of the gas. As long as you do not take off the main gas line on the bottom you do not have to empty it all the way. I took out like 80% of the gas

Sir REM thank you!

HondaRR those are ventilation hoses that hold no fuel, only air. You can remove all the hoses from the fuel tank, including the one going to the pump, without leaking fuel. A small amount of residual fuel will leak out of the line itself but the tank/pump itself shouldn't leak any fuel. If it is then you've got an issue lol. That's the point of an electric pump, it only disperses fuel when you tell it to!

have you gone all the way down to the plugs?

Not yet but I will have to do the plug sometime this year.

@@dootieflack I checked the service manual and there is nothing special. Just says remove plus using a 14MM plug wrench.

No, but I did because I want as much HP as I can get.
