My 2001 has the in tank pump. How difficult is it to install the engine mounted pump to replace the in tank pump? I want to run saddle fuel tanks and need an external pump to do that.

If I wanted to use this pump but mine has the aluminum block inbits place and pump inside tank would I have to remove the internal pump ?

Question: Once fuel lift pump is installed all you have to do is bump the starter to prime the fuel system to get all the air out? I saw another video where they bump the starter and put a small screw driver into the second valve on the fuel injector pump to purge air out of the system. Is this an unnecessary step since it was not presented in your video? Thanks in advance

I know I'm 8 years late but I think it depends on your truck. We've got a 24 valve 99 dodge ram 2500 and we always have to open the cylinders to let the air out when we crank it.

I replaced the pump but I had the battery connected, is that why it’s not running?

It could be something shorted and blew the fuse or cooked the relay. Does the pump have power? Is the fuse and relay in working order?

What is nice about this job is there are no special tools involved. A compliment of standard wrenches and sockets are all that is required.

Converter lockup issue on it..my dodge did the same thing..put some foil on the wire behind the alternator and itll fix it
