Should I be concerned about moisture making its way through the screws at the top shower flange that go into the suds? Can I silicone on top of the screws? I am a little tall and water sometimes splashes up there

When was the wall board installed? The video started with it in the background and then never mentions it.

I bought my home from a flipper and though we love this shower the valves they used were the cheapest at Home Depot. 18 months later I've got a constant drip that replacing the valve cartridge doesn't fix, so I'm considering removing the shower paneling to replace the valves to a better brand. I don't want to buy a whole new shower, so do you have any recommendations on how to go about removing the paneling so it doesn't hurt the shower and facilitates a clean re-install?

Replace the valve from behind the wall

@@Ghossty1444 In this case that would require digging a trench outside of my house and punching a hole through the foundation.

New paneling is around $300 and certainly the cheaper option. It is unlikely you can remove them without damage unless they were installed with no glue or bad glue.@@BobDunlock

Thanks for making this video. It is long overdue. However, like your colleague who shows us how to install the shower base, both you and she tells us to use the sealant and adhesive recommended by Delta in the packaging. However, there IS NO RECOMMENDED ADHESIVE OR SEALANT called out in the packaging, and in your video you purposely blurred out the tube of DAP Kwik Seal Plus you are using. You then stress the importance of using different adhesive and sealant, then proceed to use the same tube of DAP Kwik Seal for both adhering the panels to the studs AND sealing the panels to the base. What gives? Why does Delta have to make this so difficult? They make a great product, but poor instructions on how to install them. This video is a big help to clarify some of the mistakes in Delta’s installation instructions, but still falls short. Delta needs to be more transparent on how to properly install these shower kits, and by making these small but significant changes Delta might just be able to improve the current 2.8 star piss-poor rating of these shower kits that are actually really good quality, but should be rated much better than that.

Thank you for the feedback Brash Air. We apologize for the difficulty finding an adhesive or sealant. For sealants, we recommend DAP 3.0, or Loctite PL Heavy Duty Sealant. If these can't be found, use latex/acrylic high-performance sealants and caulks that are designed for plastic/polystyrene, and do NOT use water cleanup. Other types have the potential for poor adhesion, shrink, and cracking over time. For adhesives, any construction adhesive that is safe for plastics can be used, please follow the manufactures instructions for application and cure times. Please contact us directly with any questions! We are happy to help. -Bryan

if the valve is already installed and soldered why do you need the fire retardant panel.
