Thank You Thank You. My brain went completely dead in trying to cast on stitches with the long tail method and then I found you. You've also taught me what to do with the tail on circular needles (include it in first 3 stitches of the 2nd round). You are silmply wonderful and you're in my favorites. I also have your email address right up on my board. You are truly a godsend. Thank You Miss Judy.

Judy, I FINALLY *got it*!!! Thank you so much :^) !! It took trial and error (like anything!) and just "doing it." Thanks for the video which is invaluable to "knit along." I sat here and knitted along with you and it's working, Ha! Now...how to bind off of this thing, lol. I'm off to hunt for a binding off. Thanks again so much for youir generosity and graciousness in helping. Cheers! ;^)

Oh, ok, watching it a second time helped tremendously. I didn't understand what you were doing with the tail the first time, you're just ktog the tail and yarn 3 k instead of having to weave it in later. Smart! I also noticed, unlike some of the other tutorials (I watch yours 1st, then others to see if I missed something, then yours again because that's how I'm going to do my work), you didn't cast on so your needles were completely overcrowded. I just want to practice, not make anything yet. I've never used a stitch holder before, either, so this is new territory for me. Thanks for making it simpler!
@MyassWins14 жыл бұрын
That looks SO much easier than what I saw in the past! It kept doing something where you pulled the yarn separate half way down, then start from the middle and I don't even know. I decided to shelf my circular needles because I found DPNs to be easier! Now I can pull the circular ones back down :>

You demonstrated how to join the stitches very clearly! Thank you soo much! So many videos and directions seem to assume the knitter knows certain aspects of techniques and leaves the learner in frustration and lost. You actually show and explain the steps clearly and I cannot thank you enough! I will definitely direct others to your page and yes I am subscribed. I also love that you knit Continental style. Smiles, Blessings and Joy! :D :D :D :D :D :D

@knittingtipsbyjudy Just started one, actually. I finally bought some circular needles a few days ago. It's a hat for my son. I started it on my bamboo needles and then transferred to the round and started knitting. By far the biggest bonus for me is the time-saver of not having to switch to purl - knitting is faster for me:)

Thanks for your kind words. Circular needles come in different lengths. I'd use a long needle....36 inches. You should be able to find it easily in a yarn store or on line. Good luck and happy knitting.

I would suggest using them as you would straight needles. Knit across and purl back for stockinette stitch. Knit every row for garter stitch. Or, use any stitch you want. You could make a blanket or something else large and it would work beautifully. Good luck and happy knitting.

@nikkifrank1823 if you think it;s too bulky don't use the method of knitting both yarns for 3 stitches. Usually it looks fine,. Yes, when working with 3 colors you should carry the yarn up the inside. There are always exceptions to every rule. Happy knitting!

I'm going to be studying this video very closely for the next couple of days! XD Thank you so much -- your lessons have been invaluable to me. I couldn't have learned this (or stripes!) without you! Just a quick question -- how long would my circular needles have to be to make a 5x5 throw? I saw some needles at the store, but the line between them seemed to be rather short and the needles themselves quite short. Is that normal, or should I look for longer needles/cord between them?

Hi Judy! i love your videos! I am teaching myself to knit so I can eventually create this wave blanket that is made with a 40" circular needle, size 9. I heard form another knitter that I can very well use a 32" circular needle, since she thinks a 40" will be too big. (ending size is 33" by 39") I also can't find larger sized circular needles at the store. The longest one is a 29". Will that be okay for this project? Thanks!

I am new to knitting, and when I see these videos on "knitting in the round", can you tell me then, what would be the advantage of the "magic loop", say, when making leg warmers for an infant? As a newbie, it seems the magic loop is more complicated. Also, when using circular ndls. do your cast ons have to fill the length of the cable..can I use only 24 st.s on a 30" circ.ndl. and still knit in the round? thanks KT
