Your video is the first one where I understood how brioche stitch works and I attended a 3hr workshop and didn’t manage to understand even in person! Thank you very much for sharing.

Every time I search for a new and complicated stitch I've never done before, your videos are always the best; and they come with so many tips and construction info I wouldn't know to ask for! You're a wonderful tutor. Thank you so much. 😁😁😁

I've used a few of your videos now and I really want to say thank you so much! Your instructions and demos are so clear and slow enough for a newbie knitter to follow, and I've really seen an improvement in my work since I found you. I started knitting after my grandma passed away last year and I would have loved to learn these techniques from her, but you're the next best thing :)

Thank you for all of your instructional videos. Your explanations and demonstrations are so informative and understandable. Your informal teaching style is enjoyable, and you often include tidbits of info here and there that really add to the lessons, e.g., remarking in this particular video that any cast on is fine with this technique - answering questions before I've even typed them. :) Appreciate your taking the time to put together these videos.

For me, it was difficult in the beginning to resist the urge to purl. It's understandable: the yarn is in front, you're entering the stitch purlwise, and my instinct tells me to purl. Once I got over that part (this took a few seconds), I was home free. Thanks for another great video! Then again, all your videos are great...

Hi, Suzanne, your videos are the bomb-diggety! Quick question for you: when you knit a pattern with brioche stitch, is the cast-on generally an even number, or odd? I’m swatching for a sweater that has an odd number of cast on stitches and that just doesn’t make sense to me. I’m a decent knitter, but no stitch guru. I HAVE to follow a pattern and if I alter the number of stitches, it usually throws me off. Thanks for your tutorials! So clear to me!
@SuzanneBryan8 ай бұрын
It depends. If both edges, left and right need to be balanced, I cast on an odd number. Think of it as ribbing. For example, if it is a cardigan and I want the fronts to match, I cast on an odd number. If it is a scarf and I want the two sides to be reversible, I cast on an even number.

Hi. Thank you for explaining so well. What can I do so my knit stitches don’t look stretched out?

Hi Suzanne: Why does the setup start with a purl stitch? When I went to use my practice fabric for your brioche invisible bind off tutorial, it started with a knit stitch.
@SuzanneBryan5 жыл бұрын
It can start with either. When making a demonstration, I had to choose one or the other. You can start either way. Thank you! Happy knitting!

Are you using dpns:-(double pointed needles)? I'm sorry-you're using circulars. Thank you.
@SuzanneBryan5 жыл бұрын
You can use dpns or circulars or straight needles when working one color brioche. When you work 2 color brioche you need to use dpns or circulars. happy knitting.
