blocking the water with big pots on the bottom rack is a bad idea if your dishwasher is like mine and doesn't have a second sprayer for the top rack

You forgot some important points: make sure the spray bars can spin freely, and have everything slanted inward or vertical...not slanted outward...to make the most of the spray.

If you have chunky crap on your dishes, pots, pans, etc. be sure to run your garbage disposal afterwards. Some dishwashers do have a grinder.

Every video on you tube is different . I guess I’ll take a little from each one and the way my mom taught us as a kid . Dishwashers evolve that’s why I’m looking. I have 2 spray arms now ( ha ha luxury ) so I was making sure I’m doing it up to date . Those pods I’m scared of I don’t trust the plastic some of them don’t dissolve fully . Hope you have a video on that

When I used those plastic wrapped laundry soap packets I had problems. There was little plastic pieces from the soap packet that didn't dissolve and actually got lodged in the bottom drain and spray-arm nozzle holes of the arm. I also don't think it's a good idea to not pre-rinse your dirty dishes because won't all those food scrap pieces just get stuck and jam-up the plastic filter that's located at the bottom of the dishwasher where the water drains down? When I cleaned-out my filter it was almost completely caked--up with calcium deposits and hard food scraps.

Enjoy cleaning your trap in the bottom often if you put pans and plates with that much food on them in there.

If you use prewash you have nothing to worry about but if you prewash in sink what's the point of having a dishwasher if your gonna waste 26 gallons of water if your dishwasher just saved 20 gallons and it also depends on the dishwasher

I've been told by an ER Doctor, to place forks and sharp knives DOWN to avoid cuts when emptying the silverware tray... BTW: NEVER place real SILVERWARE or Silverplated utensil's in dishwasher, ditto crystal ware..!

i buy my detergent online. (phosphate brand) and i load them in any kind of way without rinsing and my top of the line LG gets them sparkling clean. no fuss no frills.

its not a sciance you can basically put the dishes any where you want the key is make sure theres a little room between them so the water can get threw

Why wouldn't you put all the silverware in handle-up? Do they not get cleaned as well that way? I'm not really keen on people grabbing the silverware by the eating end when taking them out of the dishwasher. Hopefully they've just washed their hands!

I watched a video that said to put some silverware with the handle up and others down so the they don't spoon each, because then they won't come clean.

You put a pot on the bottom so now the pot blocks water from shooting up to the top, at least In that spot... Pots on top rack.

I use my dishwasher a little differently. I usually hand wash my dishes,but run them pre-rinsed through the dishwasher once a week to totally sanitize and degrease them. I haven't had any problems with those little packets.

Nope. For proper water flow, those plates are facing the wrong direction. Like that, your water pressure will be spraying the bottom of the plates instead of the dirty side.

I always think the same thing. If you leave muck on the dishes, then it will mean clogged spray arms, and having to clean the filter all the time.

I do understand the 'no rinse' thing, but I'm sorry, If you load your dishwasher with chunks of food like that, you are asking for problems. At the VERY least you end up with odors because the food doesn't all rinse/drain away 100%. Do yourself and your dishwasher a favor and at least scrape off the food from the dishes before loading the dishwasher.

You scrape the chunks off so you don't have that problem. Then you put them in without rinsing. That's how I wash mine and they do fine.
