I gained 50 pounds during or right after menopause settled in. I was always skinny all my life but I suddenly had sweet cravings that I gave into regularly so it was my fault. The only thing that finally helped me lose weight was giving up simple carbs; all sugar, starches, pasta, white flour; basically keto and low carb. I stuck to it and lost all the extra weight. It took about 8 months to get to my goal, and I've kept it off for two years. I had to make a drastic change and I'm glad I did.

Congratulation, and thanks for the hope. I gained 35 pounds... and I still crave for "bad food"... bread, sugar fat and salt... I don't like vegetable, fruits.... meat.... I must to refound my balance, a balance that's better for me.

💗 Very informational and inspirational! Three weeks ago I looked at myself in the mirror and didn't like what I saw. I started riding my bike more, not eat after 6 PM and eating more whole foods (less processed food too). Today I'm down 4 pounds. I think half that is my body letting go of the "stress fat" I was carrying with the bad relationship I was in. I'm easing into a better diet and more exercise. This week I'll start cutting out "bad" carbs like hot dog buns. I keep reminding myself it took me years to put it on AND my body may fight me so I need to be patient. Thank you for letting me tell my little story here. And so happy that you're a role model for healthier living.

Its really inspirational to see this. Its easy to just give up and think that losing weight in mid life is impossible but it can be done. I need to shift quite a few pounds as my weight is impacting my health. Thank you for the tips and well done!

I am dying here. I lost 37 lbs with a high protein diet (I would say I’m post menopausal). It’s definitely in the middle. I used to be hour glass and now I’m Apple. A video of your with your sis got me to try the old Tracy Anderson Meta program and my body looks so different. It’s really been amazing. My problem is I got so close to my ideal weight and am now slowly gaining even though I feel like I’m doing ever to lose, according to my cheap scale I’ve gained 1.6% of muscle which is great, but I gained 8 lbs in the last several months. This program is definitely strength training, even though the added weight is minimal. I’m still at it, but frustrated!

I started lifting weights and put on some weight. I managed to finally get back to where I was but the last ten pounds are fighting me. I’ve been considering going back to Tracey Anderson and lifting weights in between. The subscription is pricey though. I’d rather put that money into maintaining my collagen stash every month.

I use to be able to fast. Now I get terrible cravings and stress eat. Trying to avoid eating makes me more stressed. My cortisol is through the roof. 😓

Fasting often raises cortisol in menopausal women. I stopped intermittent fasting. I sometimes go a long stretch without eating but it’s not because I’m fasting. I eat when I’m hungry now.

In perimenopause early menopause It wont budge !! older relatives say once hormones settle low carb weights then work .And weight moves quicker but good to adopt asap❤

Good for you hun you look fabulous. I can't weight train with my disability I root March as far as I can each day. I have a bike as well. Lifting weights would leave me in a jock.

I am struggling with my weight... and like you said, It's discouraging and upsetting. my husband and I have been walking every day for over 2 months now.... yet, I've still been gaining weight.... and the weight is causing lots of discomforts and etc.... I don’t follow her so much since she swapped only to her weight loss focus (she has always done that but she used to make exercise videos which I liked doing - they’re still available). I actually bought the old DVDs on eBay and a big portable dvd player for $60 on Amazon. Not everyone seems happy with her new stuff. I really can’t believe how it’s changed my body this time around. There were some videos on YT but I think they took them down. I started with hipcentric and then they were gone when I got about halfway through. I completed abcentric and I’m now on glutecentrc level 6. I will do hip again next and then Omni. I really think I’m Omni but I do t mind working on individual parts. Hubby he’s seeing a change in my butt so it must be working. It’s flat as a pancake so it’s got along way to go! I’m really hooked on it though. The gym wasn’t giving me these results. I’ve always been bigger and not muscular. Now my arms and legs I have long then muscles. I noticed change in my should first, I would say. I’ve been doing some recap type videos on my channel too. I enjoy your vans FB group. This is a tough journey and I appreciate your point of view view too💜

That’s great but remember loss of muscle mass will happen regardless of your weight and decreases quality of life. It will cause problems so it is important to build and maintain muscle.

@@Sentimentalist0923 I love Good Protein powder(except the mocha one! Yuck!). It adds 21 grams of protein to my day. I add it to my chia pudding and it makes my breakfast(sometimes lunch) about 31 grams of protein. I eat greek yogourt and cottage cheese as well which have a lot of protein. I like nuts too but I have to be careful with nuts. They add a lot of calories and fat easily. Chickpeas are a good source of protein. Do you like hummus?

Your weight won’t just go back to premenopausal numbers after menopause. You will have to work on building muscle and losing the extra pounds.

@@maryammaqbool9755 You need to leave a day between workouts for your muscles to rest, repair and rebuild. Start with weights you can handle and work up to heavier weights as you get stronger. I started with 5 pound weights and now I use 10 to 20 pound weights for many exercises.

Can you give examples of what you eat in a day? Do you have a video on this? I eat more plant based (not totally), but feel it can spike my insulin more due to the naturally higher carbs when not eating as much meat, for protein sources. Have you tried to increase your protein more? That seems to be the current recommendation for menopausal women.

I love my protein shakes. I was using Orgain vanilla. I didn’t notice it has iron in it which causes constipation. Orgain causes me so much flatulence and bloating. My husband wouldn’t be in the same room with me! Whey protein powder doesn’t agree with me either!

@@cleanqueen75Some if not all Orgain flavors contain erythritol. That is a cause for gas and bloating for many people.

Sorry to hear that. The one I use is only a tablespoon. It’s a small dose and I haven’t had any issues. The powdered collagens where you need a giant scoop gave me tummy upset. Maybe try a liquid?

I weighed myself today..eeekkk! I eat too many simple carbs I know. Sometimes I find my hunger won’t be quelled. Plus a lifetime of habits and past bad dieting practices … I have to loose weight as it’s impacting my joints.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but you have no problem with weight at all. Try gaining 60 lb in a year that's a problem You did not have a problem my dear. To be honest try to go from 180 to 300 lb in 3 years... I wish I had your problem...

I seem to be one of the lucky women. From the moment I didn’t use anticonception I lost almost 20 lbs in a year. For me that was a bit too much and I was skinny. Now I have a normal weight. I completely lost my appetite, luckily it recovered.
