I gained 50 pounds during or right after menopause settled in. I was always skinny all my life but I suddenly had sweet cravings that I gave into regularly so it was my fault. The only thing that finally helped me lose weight was giving up simple carbs; all sugar, starches, pasta, white flour; basically keto and low carb. I stuck to it and lost all the extra weight. It took about 8 months to get to my goal, and I've kept it off for two years. I had to make a drastic change and I'm glad I did.

💗 Very informational and inspirational! Three weeks ago I looked at myself in the mirror and didn't like what I saw. I started riding my bike more, not eat after 6 PM and eating more whole foods (less processed food too). Today I'm down 4 pounds. I think half that is my body letting go of the "stress fat" I was carrying with the bad relationship I was in. I'm easing into a better diet and more exercise. This week I'll start cutting out "bad" carbs like hot dog buns. I keep reminding myself it took me years to put it on AND my body may fight me so I need to be patient. Thank you for letting me tell my little story here. And so happy that you're a role model for healthier living.

I am dying here. I lost 37 lbs with a high protein diet (I would say I’m post menopausal). It’s definitely in the middle. I used to be hour glass and now I’m Apple. A video of your with your sis got me to try the old Tracy Anderson Meta program and my body looks so different. It’s really been amazing. My problem is I got so close to my ideal weight and am now slowly gaining even though I feel like I’m doing ever to lose, according to my cheap scale I’ve gained 1.6% of muscle which is great, but I gained 8 lbs in the last several months. This program is definitely strength training, even though the added weight is minimal. I’m still at it, but frustrated!

Fasting often raises cortisol in menopausal women. I stopped intermittent fasting. I sometimes go a long stretch without eating but it’s not because I’m fasting. I eat when I’m hungry now.

I actually bought the old DVDs on eBay and a big portable dvd player for $60 on Amazon. Not everyone seems happy with her new stuff. I really can’t believe how it’s changed my body this time around. There were some videos on YT but I think they took them down. I started with hipcentric and then they were gone when I got about halfway through. I completed abcentric and I’m now on glutecentrc level 6. I will do hip again next and then Omni. I really think I’m Omni but I do t mind working on individual parts. Hubby he’s seeing a change in my butt so it must be working. It’s flat as a pancake so it’s got along way to go! I’m really hooked on it though. The gym wasn’t giving me these results. I’ve always been bigger and not muscular. Now my arms and legs I have long then muscles. I noticed change in my should first, I would say. I’ve been doing some recap type videos on my channel too. I enjoy your vans FB group. This is a tough journey and I appreciate your point of view view too💜

@@Sentimentalist0923 I love Good Protein powder(except the mocha one! Yuck!). It adds 21 grams of protein to my day. I add it to my chia pudding and it makes my breakfast(sometimes lunch) about 31 grams of protein. I eat greek yogourt and cottage cheese as well which have a lot of protein. I like nuts too but I have to be careful with nuts. They add a lot of calories and fat easily. Chickpeas are a good source of protein. Do you like hummus?

Your weight won’t just go back to premenopausal numbers after menopause. You will have to work on building muscle and losing the extra pounds.

@@maryammaqbool9755 You need to leave a day between workouts for your muscles to rest, repair and rebuild. Start with weights you can handle and work up to heavier weights as you get stronger. I started with 5 pound weights and now I use 10 to 20 pound weights for many exercises.

I love my protein shakes. I was using Orgain vanilla. I didn’t notice it has iron in it which causes constipation. Orgain causes me so much flatulence and bloating. My husband wouldn’t be in the same room with me! Whey protein powder doesn’t agree with me either!

Sorry to hear that. The one I use is only a tablespoon. It’s a small dose and I haven’t had any issues. The powdered collagens where you need a giant scoop gave me tummy upset. Maybe try a liquid?

I weighed myself today..eeekkk! I eat too many simple carbs I know. Sometimes I find my hunger won’t be quelled. Plus a lifetime of habits and past bad dieting practices … I have to loose weight as it’s impacting my joints.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but you have no problem with weight at all. Try gaining 60 lb in a year that's a problem You did not have a problem my dear. To be honest try to go from 180 to 300 lb in 3 years... I wish I had your problem...

I seem to be one of the lucky women. From the moment I didn’t use anticonception I lost almost 20 lbs in a year. For me that was a bit too much and I was skinny. Now I have a normal weight. I completely lost my appetite, luckily it recovered.

@@aWorkerThatCared Before I got the affiliate link the people I knew that wanted to try it used my referral code and it earned me money towards buying my products. I saved a lot and rarely paid full price. Having an affiliate link earns you money toward products too and commission. I’m not wealthy but I made it work for me because I never want to be without my collagen.
