Hi Marta, thanks for sharing this recipe. I made it and I really love it. It was using soap-based shampoo bars before that I made myself, and I didn't like them. However, with those ones I didn't really need a conditioner, but I feel like I do need one with this one. So I'm trying a deep conditioning with olive oil every couple of weeks and it's working out wonderfully. I do have a questions, though, I cannot find the powder version of the sodium cocoyl isethionate here in the US, so I bought it from a Canadian seller, which is fine, but it's way more expensive due to shipping. Do you think I can use the other version? The one that looks like little rice grains :)? Thanks in advance!
@BottegaZeroWaste
@BottegaZeroWaste 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Patricia, I am happy you enjoyed the recipe! If your SCI is in grains it would be better to either grind them into a powder or you would need to melt them along with the CAPB and oils. It will take a long time to melt so I always prefer to grind it as it's faster :)

@@BottegaZeroWaste thank you for your answer, not sure what you meant by INCI. where can I read more about the differences between them? From what I already read they are both from coconut and doing more or less the same for hair

normally I used SCI combined with SLSA (and then oils or powders). Do you think there is a huge difference between these two elements? this receipt can also work for greasy sculp and dry hair? thankssss big thanks from Dublin :)
@BottegaZeroWaste
@BottegaZeroWaste 3 жыл бұрын
SLA is also quite mild so I think it will be as fine as using just SCI. This recipe is definitely good for oily scalp and dry hair!

Hi! The recipe is public so you can do whatever you want but you need to get a safety assessment before selling anything. It's a legal requirement!

The sodium cocoyl isethionate must be in powder form? Because I can’t find powder form in my country
@BottegaZeroWaste
@BottegaZeroWaste 4 жыл бұрын
You can get it in noodles and use the noodles without melting them. If you find the flakes I suggest to blend them into a powder because they take FOREVER to melt it's a real pain :D

Hi there just a quick one ... what about replacing the sodium cocolle isethionate SCI with sodium olefin sulfonate bio powder? Do you think it is a reasonable substitute? Grazie
@BottegaZeroWaste
@BottegaZeroWaste 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Maria Elena, you could try but I think that the shampoo might turn out a little soft as sodium olefin sulfonate tends to be softer

Very nice. Can I ask, why you used a preservative? I've always heard that soaps don't need a preservative. Is this preservative plant based and eco friendly? 😃
@BottegaZeroWaste
@BottegaZeroWaste 3 жыл бұрын
The shampoo will get in touch with water constantly so it needs to be preserved from mould and bacteria from forming. Yes the preservative is surely eco friendly! I would not describe it as plant based but it definitely does not contain any animal or animal derivates :)

@@BottegaZeroWaste Although the natural pH of soap doesn't require a preservative, this bar of soap needs one? Can you please share your thoughts on why this soap needs a preservative?
@BottegaZeroWaste
@BottegaZeroWaste 3 жыл бұрын
@@1andycandy639 The one in the video is a detergent based soap with a balanced pH and therefore needs a preservative. Natural cold process soap has a high, alkaline pH which prevents bacteria to grow and therefore does not need a presevative!
