That's wild...me and a friend went to a Mexican restaurant in September and I too was inspired by the margarita flights. We came up with cake flights dessert flights cookie flights and pie flights. Great minds think alike. Thanks for sharing! 😊

back when cupcakes where a thing, a lot of young moms wanted to start a home business and I would help break it down for them, so they could make a profit to reinvest in their business and also how to market their samples. It was fun to help empower other women. I no longer make cakes but I had been making cakes since I made my first one in 1978! oh, if anyone is interested, I used to sample out the cupcakes by baking the mini cupcakes what fit into the smallest styro coffee cups which I then would slap a label onto. lol

They’ve been around for years under different names like wedding tasting boxes etc. I don’t take credit for that. and no that lady was not the creator of them either. The packaging and calling them a cake flight is my own creation. Nothing has ever been referred to as such until I did it, so yes I take credit for it. I don’t dabble in drama too much, but I have an interesting story about an interaction with her. Y’all have to understand I do as much research as I can before I put something out or take claim over it. Maybe it’s time I finally put that video out…

Awesomeness! That is creativity. Obviously, your CF tastes as good as they look for them to sell out so fast. I absolutely love to bake and everything about baking. I'm dating myself here, but my Mother put the baking bug in me eons ago when, one Christmas, she bought me an Easy Bake Oven. It came with packets of ingredients w/instructions and when that ran out she would give me some of her homemade cake/ batter to use with it. It was magical. Everyone who tastes my cakes/muffins/pies/cookies puts the beg on me for more offering to pay. My Fam & friends all tell me I should open a bakery. Hi! No, you would do different batters and buttercream, but I just did one to get the point across. So for example, in what I sell I baked my cookie butter cake recipe, chocolate cake recipe, Funfetti cake recipe, and strawberry cake recipe. So each piece is an actual flavor, not just vanilla with different toppings although you could do that as well!

Yea cake flights have been around for a while. As a wedding planner, 5 years ago, a bakery in St. Louis used that term for the wedding sampler that were usually given to brides. Customers wanted them so they started charging them nd calling them flights.

Yes, tasting boxes/samplers have been around for forever. Calling them cake flights (especially online) not so much. I do totally believe others have had the same idea. It happens all the time! I just know through my research when I came up with the name that there wasn’t a trace of the term being used online in this way. Either way, it’s great to see people using the term now and adding these to their menus. It’s why I share so others can be successful too! They’re so popular!

Hi! My batter is slightly thick so I just pour one side and then the other. Nothing too fancy. I don’t worry about potential mixing because they’re all going to be touching anyways and you can trim it.

im surpised you dont do larges of each individual flavor, then take 1 piece from each and fill tins. unless you did a small batch for us. i think the measurements would get tiring and slow. especially if you need to make a bunch. i would do whole 13x18 pans, top entirely, and take from each until its clear. and freeze any extra. maybe not topping with frosting the whole yet. maybe you do this already lol

A "flight" is a very common way to label a variety sample of any consumable product especially in health and beauty and food. Wine Flights. Cheese Flights. Cookie Flights. Dazzle Dry Flights. They take you on a trip across senses and or flavors. It's also common for weddings when brides are trying to choose their cake flavors.
