Thanks for the introduction years ago to the heaped and level British teaspoon and tablespoon as well as British chef ladle and spoon: I don't often use the metric system anymore with BIR cookery. I find that the Glasgow (Scottish) schools differ from the London traditions: Does any meaningful difference prevail amongst the Irish schools of BIR cookery? Perhaps some day the culinary history and traditions of BIR cookery in your lands will be investigated with encyclopedic detail: I hold that British culinary traditions might rival even the French and Italian, yet are greatly hindered in evolution by the inability to develop a rational unity from their many disparate parts, as the melting pot in America.
