I really appreciate that the contents in this channel go straight to the point. There are hundreds of other recipe videos on KZbin, but 90% of them make me hear about a ton of irrelevant crap before getting to the actual recipe.

Here’s a tip after you open the avocado use a knife to jam it into the core and twist it it’s way easier then a spoon
@DiveMaiden16 жыл бұрын
For those who like a little heat, and don't like cumin, or don't use it enough to warrant purchasing a full container, you can either use a fresh jalepeno or serrano pepper (remove seeds & dice), or you can add red pepper (cayenne) to taste - usually 1/2 to 1 tsp. should do. I prefer using cayenne for several reasons. 1) since you don't need to dice it, you don't need to worry if you need to rub your eye before thoroughly washing your hands. 2) It adds heat immediately, so you can dig right in if you want instead of having to wrap it up and sit for a few hours to let the fresh pepper heat affect the dip. 3) I use cayenne in a lot of recipes so I usually have it handy and don't need to make a special trip to buy it.

Just made a version of this, very nice. Only one Avocado, no lime or lemon, used Apple/Ginger, half a tomato, one medium spoon of finely chopped red onion, about a level teaspoon of ground cumin, several twists of a salt grinder, cilantro a teaspoon of minced garlic and 1/4 teaspoon chilli flakes. Turned out very well, with an aftertaste of chilli and garlic.

Idk if you have tried the Reed avocado. It is from here in Carlsbad, San Diego County, CA. Patented by James Reed in 1960. The flavor is so very rich and delicious. Mash and spread on toast add a little salt or pepper and it is heavenly. It is a large baseball size variety and has a creamy, buttery & nutty flavor. You can google to find the site that you can order on line. Try it you will love it! Thanks for your recipe. 🥰

If you have leftover guacamole, the best way to save it is in a Food Saver bowl using the suction attachment to seal it. Without the air to turn it brown, it stayed as fresh as if I'd just made it for at least a couple of days. Delicious!

My mother uses also a molcajete (mortar) which adds flavor because the stone absorbs the flavor of previous uses. She uses grain salt, big grains, (as big as fish tank gravel), and black pepper. I remembered. The tomatoes are roasted a little bit so that the peel comes off easily. They need to be peeled.
