How is your resin always so clear? No matter how quickly or slowly I stir it is instantly foamy bubbles, even letting it rest stays foamy bubbles. I try the light to pop them it like heats the resin and makes more bubbles even with a quick swoop over....
@resinAce5 жыл бұрын
It sounds like your resin is very thick. Warming it up before you use it might help. I use www.resin4art.com which is very low viscosity and mixes without too many bubbles.
@Pixelledsugar5 жыл бұрын
@@resinAce I have been using "Amazing clear cast", which I bought at a craft store. How would you suggest heating it up without causing it not to set? Additionally would it be warm still when I pour, because I use this reusable mold maker that liquefies under heat and solidifies when cooled down so the resin needs to be cool when poured.
@resinAce5 жыл бұрын
@@Pixelledsugar Ahhhhhh, Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast is the very worst resin for bubbles. It's very thick and also turns yellow over time, so I don't recommend it. You only need to warm it gently, even increasing the temperature by 10°C will make a difference. That shouldn't affect your reusable mould maker.
@Pixelledsugar5 жыл бұрын
@@resinAce I appreciate your input and will try the heat method, I wondered why the cost was always so low at hobby lobby haha Next purchase of resin I will go for the art resin. I have seen other crafters use that or the sohphie&tophie type but they are always so expensive for such a small amount(20g is 40$+shipping on S&T, but its UV)

Heyyy ACE again me here in Michigan and I am trying to find the moulding silicone but am having zero luck in my search.. Any chance ya have any suggestions?
@resinAce3 жыл бұрын
Hi, you can try and find a distributor via smooth-on's website. You need a tin cure silicone for moulding UV resin printed parts. Don't choose a platinum cure silicone because UV resin inhibits the cure.
@ShanC3133 жыл бұрын

How do u get it to stick to the glass? With all my potions it keeps pulling off
@resinAce2 жыл бұрын
It's caused by the shrinkage of your resin. I use a resin that is solvent-free, which has less shrinkage than those containing solvents. You also need to ensure your resin doesn't get too hot as it cures, or that will cause it to expand and then contract as it hardens. The only remaining thing to try is to do multiple shallow pours instead of one big pour, although you may see lines between the layers.

The main problem with KTB is that I used children's toys as props in the videos, which is now classed as appealing to kids under 13 and therefore falls under the scope of COPPA. There were other issues too, but it can be fixed with re-editing. ♠
