When I apply colours to my glow powder it doesn't reflect light anymore, how can I fix that?

@@sino1449 you need to buy the coloured set of powders. You can't colour them yourself.

How to finish the part that was at upper side of the mold? My cubes always look unfinished as the surface is not perfectly flat and the edges always a bit higher .

For the mushrooms in the mold. How much longer does it take for the uv light to set up deep in the mold? Or did you multi fills and sets, working your way to the top?

Hi Ace- i'm a new subscriber and I adore your work! I have this mold and will definitely try this. QUESTION-- Can you use the shredded mylar in this rather than the cut up film? i have both; however, I have central tremors and it's sometimes difficult for me to cut things and keep them even and straight. I will definitely be keeping my eye on you for more astounding art!!

@ARTBYSPARKLE the thing about dichroic film is that it reflects 99.9% of light. I don't know if you would get the same effect from mylar. Dichroic film also reflects different colours from different angles. It's very unique.

You could have got 100 1cm resin cubes for the cost of that single dichroic one

Thank you for this video. I have this mold and I'm fixing to use it but couldn't think how to make it stay together 😂. I don't know why I didn't think of my hot glue gun 😊

Is it normal that the resin gets hot?
@resinAce
@resinAce 4 ай бұрын
@adrianacuellar6256 resin cures via exothermic reaction so it is normal to get warm. If it gets hot then you have poured it deeper than it was designed for and may cause an uncontrolled exothermic reaction. This is when the resin boils and cures instantly, but will be deformed at the edges and surface.

So many viewers asking about the type of acrylic paint being demonstrated here, but I've not seen the video's host directly address the topic of paint types. The brand isn't nearly as important as making sure you are using *ACRYLIC ENAMEL* (oil-based paint). Acrylic latex (water-based) will seperate, and sink to the bottom.

What percentage would you use if you were using mica powder for colouring?
@resinAce
@resinAce 8 ай бұрын
Mica powder isn't something I ever measure. You only need a pinch in a small amount of resin. My advice is to add a small amount of mica and see how it looks, then you can add a bit more if necessary.
