My daddy passed away 2 years ago and Deddy has the same Ora, demeanor and smile as my dad. It's been therapeutic for me to watch Deddy. Keep up the good work ❤️🙏

Three things Jamaicans\West Indians don't do when cooking. 1. We don't measure ingredients, we just know.. That's why we food well season and tasty. 2. We don't really put timer on our food. We check on it. 3. We don't wear gloves, we always use our hands and ensure them clean. Bonus: we clean our kitchen as we go. Big up Daddy's kitchen!!!!!

Real cooks have made recipes so many times that all a measuring cup would do is add to the dishes. You can tell someone actually understands the food they make, they know what it would taste like if they added an extra pinch to the recipe. I'm glad we've gotten another experienced chef to learn from

I love your dad omg my dad is my best friend and he is losing his battle to his illness I still call him for recipes and I’m trying to hold on to all his knowledge omg your so lucky my dad is a first born American citizen his father is from the Bahamas and bought land here.... I am glad your dad made this brown stew chicken and show people this is the way it’s done, I was told because I leave Jamaica long time ago they don’t do it like that anymore. they throw everything in and stir and stir and stir without frying it first, but I like the Traditional Way,, your father and I see eye and eye on Jamaican brown stew chicken. Omg watching your father reminds me of mine!! He's a cheif from Grenada. He makes the most wonderful carribean food, and it brings me joy to see your deddy cook too. I use coconut oil and coconut milk in my stew in place of water it adds a richness to it, also I was taught to use carrots and potatoes as well. But this color you got is perfect. I love your videos big ups

I’m trying to bring my home town Orlando fl some authentic Jamaican food that no one has tasted before, straight from farm to table. I always told my self I would need to visit the islands in order to gain the correct knowledge about your food culture. But I see i can get every detail from your videos.. excellent editing, narrating and vibe to the whole videos..

For those looking for the flavo rice, it can be found in Costco Canada locations. So maybe those in the states can check their local Costco.

Not at all Costco Canada locations. I've checked two separate stores in the past 2 days and NADA! I had to order it from them online. Amazon.ca has it at a higher price.

You are right ketchup it’s a staple of Jamaican dishes except for curry goat and curry chicken, you don’t put tomato or ketchup in those dishes some people do but if you try it without it you’ll see the difference💕

Reddy, I am 75 yo and have been away from Jamaica since I was 19 but I can still remember my mom making Pumpkin rice and Beef balls. I am not talking about the meatballs here in US I mean Jamaican meatballs. We Jamaican do not use gloves especially when we cooking for our family. We massage the meat better and the food taste better. The man washes his hands several times. His hands and nails are clean.

Is who a talk bout gloves. Listen him a come from back when granny teach him fi cook. First clean under the finga nail, even when no finga nail no deh deh yuh still clean unda dem. Then wash yuh hand and keep washing yuh hand while yuh inna di kitchen a cook. No gloves round here suh
