Great recipe! Just wanted to give some tips for the English: 焼 in this context is pan-fry, not bake “Put out the fire” should be “turn the heat off”. Hope this helps!

Can this recipe be used with other fish other than mackerel?

Konnichiwa! Teriyaki sauce goes well with yellowtail, cod, salmon, horse mackerel, Spanish mackerel, and tuna. You can find it on the menu of Japanese home cooking and Japanese restaurants! (*´▽`*)/

Hai, i am from indonesia. I like all of japanese food. Can I replace mirin and sake with something that have same taste? because I am muslim and I can not consume that....
@harumarecipe3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Can't you use alcohol? If you can't drink alcohol, I can't think of a substitute for sake. but,I searched for a substitute for mirin (not use alcohol). For mirin, 「sake + sugar」 is used as a substitute in Japan. In other words, sweet sake is mirin. Therefore, if you look it up in Japan, Sugar Honey Maple syrup 三温糖/Sanon Tou (brown sugar) Coca Cola (color becomes darker) And so on. When I looked it up in Japan, I found that some people used these as a substitute for mirin when they ran out of mirin. (* However, since it is not mirin, there is a difference in taste.) (* By the way, sake has the effect of eliminating the smell of fish and meat and making the taste gentle.) I hope you find it helpful. (´ ▽ ` *)
