Oat milk can be a good substitute for cow's milk. It’s healthy, low fat, dairy free and vegan. All you need is a blender, rolled oats, water and 2 minutes of work. The result is silky smooth and healthy milk that is good for coffee, tea, smoothies, porridge and other recipes. So follow this recipe to learn how to make the best homemade oat milk.

Healthy recipes you can prepare with oat milk:
Healthy Oatmeal Porridge - 4 Easy Recipes: bit.ly/HealthyP...
5 Healthy Smoothie Recipes: bit.ly/SmoothieTCF
Overnight oats: bit.ly/Overnigh...
Nice cream: bit.ly/HealthyI...
Ingredients:
1 cup (90g) Rolled oats
4 cups (1 liter) cold water
Optional:
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Directions:
1. Place the oats the blender or food processor, add water and vanilla extract. Blend at the highest speed for 30-60 seconds, until looks smooth and creamy.
2. Strain the oat milk through a nut-milk bag or cheesecloth, squeezing well to extract the extra liquid.
3. Pour the milk into an airtight container.
Notes:
• Can be stored in the fridge up to 5-6 days.
• Shake well before use!
• This recipe is gluten-free as long as you use gluten-free rolled oats.

Finding this video now and after following your directions I made my first batch of oat milk. It's not bad. I don't really taste the vanilla but I could definitely see substituting this for cow's milk or almond milk.

I would soak the oats in water for at least 8 hours before making. It makes the nutrients in the oats more bioavailable so you can absorb even more nutrients.

shillows and poohs - No don’t reuse the soaking water. Pour it down the sink and then use fresh water to make the milk. 1 litre of water, 1 cup of soaked oats, 4 medjool dates (or 2 dates depending on how sweet you like it) & 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla essence. Will last in the fridge for 3 days 👌 Or an even better milk is 1 litre of water, 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1/4 cup of almonds, 1 heaped tablespoon of pumpkin seeds, 3 medjool dates, 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla essence, generous pinch of of salt. Delicious 😋

I just tried this. It came out great. A tiny bit chalky. I like it but it really hurt my stomach. No idea why. I eat oatmeal all the time. I didn't have cold water, so i used 3 cups water and one cup ice. Blended that up first till the ice melted. I've been looking for a milk alternative since the pandemic started, it's been difficult to find my usual brand of almond milk.

Also, use filtered water if your tap water is hard or is chlorinated and no water with added minerals, these will not taste well. If you can, chill the oats in the water for a few hours before blending.

Yes, in fact, it is not only very safe and nutritious, oat milk may even help with mental health and wellbeing, as the carbohydrates found in oatmeal help increase levels of serotonin (a neurotransmitter) in the brain. Serotonin has a calming effect on the brain and body to relieve feelings of anxiety, nervousness, and even insomnia.

Shane Ashby: Don't be so neurotic about the recipe. There is zero need to soak the oats, and especially not for 8 hours. Bioavailability my foot. Nobody fusses about bioavailability when cooking and eating oatmeal porridge. Also, in general, why even bother with the straining/cheesecloth stuff? Just drink the darn fiber right along with the rest of the liquid. Fiber is good for you, remember? It's amazing how some people can turn a 2-minute task into and 8-hour delayed operation by adding unnecessary fuss.
