would love to see ur process for uv mapping + texturing a character model! also perhaps some more on character modelling beyond basic anatomy - how you’d go about adding clothes + etc. great stuff so far!

I very much appreciate this. I'm about to attempt my first swing at 3D modeling a person and your tutorials have been a big help, but texture painting still seemed intimidating. Thank you for your series, it's given me a lot of confidence in an area I am completely new to.

I would love a video/series dedicated just to CGI cutscenes (e.g. resident evil style)

This was cool!! At 13:38, why do you use a mask to paint the body? Why didn't you paint as normal?

This is awesome man! Just getting into blender to do ps1 work, would love to see how you go about texturing characters like the zombies in Resident Evil. Not sure if they were handpainted, or did people take photographs of themselves and stitched everything together and moved the uvs around to sample from them, or ...

When i use stuff like the UV Editor or the Image Editor in Blender.. i think about them like a "separate" editor so i always check if i have saved my images 👍
@swampwaffle743 жыл бұрын
Ah yes my kind of stuff. Much shorter than usual but ok. Nic tutorial. Usually people back in the ol PS1 days devs would make an image that contains all the faces and textures without any UV unwrapping. The UV wrapping would be after the texturing. But this works just as well. Keep it up wizzo

Ive spent like 9 months in blender at this point. and have only touched the texture paint tab once before. It confused the heck outta me. upon first viewing of this tutorial……. i’m still confused, but now it’s on me. cause this tutorial is perfect. describes all functionality needed to turn Blender into a 2D art program…….which is why I don’t understand it LOL. I guess I just can’t (un)wrap my brain when it comes to 2D

at 4:37 the shortcut wasn't working for me. May be a Blender version issue but I found it right click was the equivalent on 3.3 for anyone running into the same issue.

The fill tool isn't filling the UV islands, but rather the squares in the color map. How do I fix this?

What can you do if you make a mistake and need to erase it but don't want to erase the other colors you have painted on top of? Its a shame you cant texture with layers
@bobalinx8762 Жыл бұрын
How did you copy the texture for the outer tire around the tire mesh?
@TheSicklyWizard Жыл бұрын
It's on the UV mapping. The islands that represent the tires stack and overlap, therefore it copies throughout the tire

it's because he overlapped the UV's

So... it looks like you don't have to make a UV map to texture something???
@TheSicklyWizard2 жыл бұрын
No, you have to make a UV map. The UV map how blender knows how to project the image onto the model
@stardusty2 жыл бұрын
@@TheSicklyWizard Oh I see. UV maps are obnoxious lol. I guess you covered that in another video. Thanks for the reply!
