@donotcomply With glass pans, you should probably heat the oven to 350-375 degrees. Look on the bottom of the pan. Sometimes they will actually indicate the proper temp. At that lower temperature the bread will need to bake longer. Maybe an added 15 minutes. Since I've not used glass pans, I'm guessing on the time. If you have a kitchen thermometer, the interior of the bread should be around 190-200. I hope that helps

It was my first time making this recipe, it came out perfectly golden, smelled delicious, I had jam I needed to use up... and just couldn't help myself! 🤤🤪) next time I make this recipe, I'm going to let the bread have a proper cool-down before cutting in, and see how it holds up with my egg salad recipe!!! Our oven has a "Proof" setting (80 degrees F) I proof for 30 minutes, remove the mixing bowl from the oven then re set the oven to 400 F. I degas the dough ball and transfer to a bread pan then place the pan on top of the stove for 30 minutes. The loaf rises a second time for 30 minutes then into the oven for 40-45 minutes.

If you "de-gas" by stirring down more aggressively after that first main rising, that can minimize those large holes in the finished "crumb."

I like the large amount of yeast allowing for a quick proof time and the 400 degree oven instead of 450 with a slightly longer bake time---

So happy you used a loaf tin. It’s what I have..Mostly no knead bread recipes use a Pyrex dish or a cast iron Dutch oven.. Thank You.

The salt should not be added with the yeast and water, it can kill the yeast and stop it frothing up. Add the salt to the flour instead. Hope this helps.
@samsilva362510 ай бұрын
That’s what I’ve heard too.

You are correct .. introducing salt to dry active yeast during the activation process, will kill it
@donnarogers77329 ай бұрын
She added no sugar either. Usually 2 tsp.sugar to yeast / water. But obviously the salt didn't kill the yeast. Wondering no sugar tho?
@conniejimenez64439 ай бұрын
@@donnarogers7732. Sometimes I forget the sugar and really works too
@snobird12527 ай бұрын
You are correct. The salt is added to the flour. The yeast and the same amount of sugar is added to the warm water before adding the flour and salt.
