Its pretty much a lose , lose. You dont take action, they probably try you again and again. You do take action, youre held accountable for any physical harm that happens to them. They want you to set up a camera, but cameras dont do anything nowadays. They say...insure your tools and equipment...so now i have to pay for tools then pay a monthly fee to secure them? the system seems to be more designed in thieves favor than in the victims. I think that anytime you take someone to court and sue them, the court should have to pay the winner and the convicted should have to pay the court because we have no authority over what a person does after a verdict is rendered.

This is just a suggestion. Do it at your own risk for legal issues. I wouldn't put these anywhere except my own property...folks argue that this isnt legal but I'm not sure that's true if someone is trespassing and their tires get flat within locked gates of your own property. They're going to have a hard time explaining this.

Why wouldn't you just screw them all the way in and utilize the tips that are already them. Seems like a lot of extra work to cut them off.

Good question. The concern is with all of these the wood would start cracking. If you have the rights tools it's a breeze.

They won't deflate the tires very quickly.

That is what you want. You don't want these guys hanging around your house, left them get stranded somewhere or find out when they get home.

*Big difference in "Fat" & "FLAT" its not the same word man. In actuality they are closer to being opposites... 🤦‍♂️ A Fat tire is not flat tire.*

Good way to create alot of liability on you're own personal property. Very smart. Then you post it on a international website to document you're negligence and your disregard for people's safety. I hate a their as much as anyone. And no no one should be entering your property illegaly. But if your booby traps hurt anyone you're screwed.

As long as you don't mind paying for their tyres. US law is clear that though you can defend your property, that doesn't give you the right to damage other people's property.

I have had some negative comments on this post and obviously individuals should consult local laws. I’m not a lawyer but looking this issue up online, there is a general rule property owners are not responsible for trespasser injuries (unless it’s death). However, if someone keeps trespassing, the general rule is gone. There are gray areas. I believe you can help your case by posting warning and danger signs. The video is intended on how to make road spikes. How you use them is up to you, which obviously I encourage to use them legally. Be safe and be careful. Thank you for all the comments.

That's not right. If somebody pops their tires on the driveway of your choice, while trespassing, you are at no fault

@@how2togo Only if you have the correct warning signs up or have correctly restricted access. Otherwise if someone turns around onto your property and their car is damaged you are libel for it.

@@bocadog3 you are at no fault if it's an accident. not if you caused the damage, left it there to cause damage, or were negligent. You clearly haven't studied law.

if only there were some sort of way to keep ppl off property. some sort of wooden wall or interlaced pieces of metal that form a barrier, that could be placed around the property. we could call it a fence! ah but such a idea is fantastical and could never be implemented. best to just keep having stuff stolen and make tire popping devices instead.
