Who like a Tequila Sunrise?! Who has tried this grenadine tip?!?! 👇👇
@thewhiskeyreport14124 жыл бұрын
I tried floating for the first few goes and it had a tendency to sink anyways. Putting it on the bottom is definitely a good hack so long as you do agitate it just a bit with the barspoon. I found that by saving part of the pour for a float of pure OJ/Spirit mix I was able to get a really nice 3 tone effect.
@CocktailCards4 жыл бұрын
Yea, being so viscous the grenadine should sink eventually, but wont give you a perfect gradient. That's why I like this technique , and having to make it about 30 times a day, it really does speed up the process! However, with homemade grenadine it may not sink as well as store bought ultra sugary grenadine, so pouring over the top can be hit or miss! I like the saving a little mix for the end too, definitely a method that can work as well!

@dusshan13 жыл бұрын
tried it and t works like a charm! i must scale the amount of grenadine for my glass as it has a bit less volume, or perhaps my grenadine simply wont completely dissolve on the bottom. it lefts this bottom line of syrup which does not look nice.

My Grenadine recipe: 2 cups pomegranate juice, 2 cups sugar, 1/4 cup pomegranate molasses, 1 teaspoon orange flower water, .5oz (15ml) Vodka. Stir in a pot on low heat until everything dissolves then bottle. If that's too much you can get a premade grenadine at most grocery stores! A sunrise starts at the top and works down?? Your all messed up?? I give you a thumbs down?? Never heard of anyone butchering such a classic???
@CocktailCards3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the comment! But I’ll have to disagree with you on this one. The “sunrise” effect is blending from red on the bottom and orange on top. Sunrises and sunsets are identical they are dark on bottom and light on top.Feel free to google both of you don’t believe me. Pouring grenadine over the top is method to blend, but since it’s so thick it settles on the bottom of the drink, but doesn’t always blend properly. We taste tested and tried this drink about 100 times and this method always won on our taste tests. I don’t take credit for the method , it was thought to me during my years of working at a very popular Spanish bar. At the end of the day it’s a cocktail, and this one have changed many times over throughout history and not even close to what it was when it was created. But I would encourage you to try both methods, see which one you like best and stick with that. I think you’ll be surprised! Cheers! 🍻

@@CocktailCards so have you tried to slowly pour the grenadine on the back of a spoon on top of your tequila Sunrise?? I've always seen this as the way to do it/and this is the way I've always executed it.I've never seen anyone put the grenadine in first🤔🤔, try to slowly pour the grenadine on a back of a bar spoon on your finished Tequila Sunrise and you should get that melting down the side sunset look.. After watching your video again I have to say that I have another DISCREPANCY...Did you really shake your Tequila Sunrise??? NO,NO,NO??? You only shake drinks that have high a citric acid,, lemon/lime juice, ect...Not a drink built with orange juice???, Now I believe there is a recipe that incorporates fresh lemon/lime juice but your obviously using the orange juice version... A Tequila Sunrise is a drink that is built and stirred..I'm sorry but I absolutely 100% disagree with the way you built/made this cocktail..Nothing personal, I just agree to disagree..I think were definitely not on the same page..To each there own..Cheers🍹🍹

@CocktailCards4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ray! This drink is so beautiful the thumbnail was actually pretty easy to take! lol Getting a blurred background is all about the lens on your camera, and how much light it lets in. Your lens has an f-stop number on it. The lower the f-stop the more blur you'll get "bookeh" Unfortunately, lens that let a lot of light in are pretty expensive!
