Very helpful. I know this takes a lot of time to make and I really appreciate it.

Fantastic advice, especially for us beginners trying to move forward from the “matching” styles we grew up with. Thank you for your wonderful advice!

Since I started following your videos, I have completely changed the way I look at the aesthetics around the house. My place is "Band Cave Extraordinaire" - John Dyer Baizley originals and prints dominate the living/music room I host bands that come through Indianapolis and I like having show posters and music themes all over the place Guitars/Art/Amps/Art/Pedals/Art/.... did I mention art? :p OH YEAH! Went around and replaced ALL my curtains with longer ones and raised them higher (6" from the ceiling) and it looks SO much better.

Omg I love that! Sounds like quite the vibe. The curtains are a game changer right?!? I swear it’s the best change to make, I can’t believe I didn’t do it for so long 😂

LOVE THE SWORD! Also your kitty is really cute, I'm already subscribed though. As to nails in the walls... not every landlord goes for that.

I think there's a good cohesiveness when the most built-in features of the room, such as the fireplace and the cornice, are an older style than the more surface details, such as paint and wallpaper, and then the newest styles are for not-at-all-built-in features such as movable furniture. It feels like an old house that successive generations have added newer things to. I suspect it wouldn't work nearly as well to have a traditional or antique style of furniture in a house where the built-in stuff was extremely modern.

Not me wanting to put the glitter purple wallpaper I bought on the ceiling after this video..... off white walls and dark stained wood in the entire house because, my husband doesn't like color.

How do you wallpaper the ceiling without it falling down on your head/face?

So, how to do music for interior design? I'm drawn to Albert Ketelbey. He composed mood-setting music for the silent movie theater; In the Mystic Land of Egypt, or the quintessentially English Bells Across the Meadows. Much less seriously we could always turn to Madness' House of Fun or Siouxsie's Happy House.

I can't hear the cars outside your window. I can barely hear you at all over the summer rain outside my window! Thankfully I have cc so I can enjoy rain and also enjoy a vid. There's a forest fire running that has burned 74 thousand hectares of land so far in my state, so I really hope they're getting some of this rain too.
