Thanks for teaching these asanas. As you mentioned, these preparatory asanas are very much helpful before entering into any deeper asanas like angamardhana or yoga namaskar.

I have been doing this daily for Shambavi since April. I have been doing it wrong and I've been having hip pain. Thank you for your simple explanation of the practice. I'm going to do it a little slower and hopefully the pain will subside.

Absolutely yes. There is no age restriction to do yoga.

Usually it is a good idea to do Titliasana first, so your body gets warmed up.

Namaste! I wanted know if it is necessary to do Shambhavi Mahamudra immediately after preparatory asanas ? Can we do preparatory asanas early in the morning and follow up with Shambhavi after 2 or 3 hours. Thank you in advance. Namaste

They are called preparatory asanas because they prepare your body and mind to sit undisturbed and consciously into the practice. Doing them one after another without disturbance keeps your mind in that zone.

After doing both aasans ...i m feeling pain from my hip bone to knee in my right leg....i need to continue it....after long time I hav started yoga again....i learnt Surya kriya also....so i started preparatory aasans.....what do u say ...i need to continue these aasana.....the will b cure after sometime...

It is normal to feel that way if you have not done any stretching in a long time. It will be better after practice.

For the second exercise, I get left leg ankle joint pain while doing this, but I can do the right leg easily. What might be the issue?

You might be tight on one side, keep doing hip opening exercises. Also, if you have any old injury on that ankle, that might be causing it.

Madam, please excuse me if im wrong, I feel like this is a level up for my flexibility, how can i get there for Titliasana and shisupalasana.. I have been doing this for a week now and i feel pressure in my lower back.. I think i should work my way up towards these exercises rather than doing this straightaway. Please help

No, you are not wrong. Feeling pressure in lower back is very normal if you have tight hip joints. Doing Cat-Cow breathing will be very helpful kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJSwfY1teK5pqsk Also you can start with these exercises kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIrKemqDic11b6c These will slowly start to open your hip joint. Another important thing is doing yoga for 45-60 minutes per day, and then sitting and standing with wrong posture for rest of the 23 hours of the day will not help. I find my back starts rounding when I do shishupalasana or rock the baby pose even though I am sitting on a raised blanket/cushion? Is that wrong? How do I correct?

No, its not wrong, it is absolutely normal. Majority of the people experience the same thing. It is only because your spine is not flexible. Doing spine lengthening asanas will help.

It is very common. Just keep doing as much as you possibly can without compromising your posture. After regular practice your body will open up.

Yes, just make sure that the leg you are holding, don't bend the knee too much. Also, you might need to put a pillow underneath the knee that is on the ground. Most importantly (and this goes for all the poses) even by using all the props, if it hurts then avoid doing that pose.

When I rock right leg then whole weight is balance by my left buttock and vice versa. So It is right ,or balance by both the buttock???

You should be balancing on both the hips. Before starting to rock notice your posture. Whichever hip is going up, put a blanket underneath the opposite hip to balance it out. Make sure that your spine is straight then start rocking.
