Well, the painting tips and methods are really great. I watch a lot of painting videos, videos about lifting weights, crafting, all sorts and with some people the information goes in and sticks and with others it just goes in one ear and out the other. With this tutorial, the editing and composition of the video, the multiple shots, that works for me: fantastic! 👍 As an aside, I often have up to 150 videos to watch on youtube on any given day so I've started watching most of them on 2x speed and even then I often find I'd like them to be quicker or a bit more snippy with the edits. That isn't to say I won't or don't watch videos at 1x speed or that don't go on for an hour, many of the videos I watch do, but I do find myself getting a bit impatient when I video seems a bit long winded. With that in mind, I especially appreciate the way you're presenting this tutorial, for me personally, it's a really great video.
@TableTopReadyYouTube3 жыл бұрын
I really appreciate the comment, thank you. My goal when I started this channel was to make painting tutorials that people can actually use and that are practical. I always got frustrated with long form painting videos because I would get impatient just like yourself and I would just want the information to paint what I wanted. My aim is to give as much information as possible and visuals are really important for this. I didn't want to dumb down or over complicate techniques and I want to show people how you can achieve great looking miniatures and it's not too difficult to do. I really enjoy making these videos and I'm so so happy that people are enjoying them and are actually using them to improve their own painting. Thank you you again for the support
@Gogsnik3 жыл бұрын
@@TableTopReadyKZbin You're very welcome. I can only imagine the cost and effort that goes into making a decent video like this, and then actually conveying information is more of a skill than anything and we can all point out a poor teacher but an explanation of how to do it well is less forthcoming but you seem to have come up with something very effective here. Thanks for the reply, I appreciate you taking the time.

4:50 Did you use Morghast Bone or Ushabti? What you say is different to the color picture in the corner
@TableTopReadyYouTube2 жыл бұрын
I would go with ushabti bone l Probably a mistake in the script 🤦🏼♂️
@grimaldushelbrecht88112 жыл бұрын
@@TableTopReadyKZbin Already did it hehe. What I wonder: How do you need for one boy? I think I needed around 4-5 hours for one boy. Its freaking long

I think over all I spent a week painting all the Ork boyz in this video. It does take time if you want nice miniatures, but you only have to paint them once 😛

Nice thx. ;) great paint scheme

curious if you think it would be worth using a zenithol highlight for the undercoat?
@TableTopReadyYouTube2 жыл бұрын
Watch my new videoooooo but I. All honesty it’s a style choice. It doesn’t improve things or take things away.

recently discovered a free app called "Spin the Wheel" and its exactly what it sounds like, using the color suggestions here on top of a few custom chosen can really help create a proper looking green horde that isnt uniform in coloration!

I just got the exact same package of orks as you and I am wondering if thondia brown will work with them?
@TableTopReadyYouTube2 жыл бұрын
Thondia brown is a great colour and it would look amazing for Orks. I use it in my gutrippers video if you want to see what it looks like

I've bought a huge box of mixed orcs, all assembled and undercoated. Fancy doing a video on what distinguishing marks identify orcs to a clan?? It's driving me mad trying to assemble them into how they were sold.
@TableTopReadyYouTube2 жыл бұрын
The thing that lets you know what clan they are in, are the colours. So this tutorial already kind of goes through that. If you know people already in the hobby then see if they know what you have. You could also go through the games workshop store and see what miniatures you have or get yourself the codex which will tell you everything you need to know 😃
@pantzman12 жыл бұрын
@@TableTopReadyKZbin that would be nice. But they are all undercoated in black.
@TableTopReadyYouTube2 жыл бұрын
It wouldn’t be difficult to re undercoat them a Different colour or just paint them goffs
@benpurdy74593 жыл бұрын
do you think these colour schemes for the different clans would work on work vehicles? just got the combat patrol, so I need to paint the vehicles
@TableTopReadyYouTube3 жыл бұрын
Yeah these schemes will totally work for vehicles. They just have big armour panels after all. I do have a vehicle tutorial as well if you’ve not seen that 😃

(snake bites have completely brown armor, but have have tribalistic zig-zag patterns on their armor, they're alright with yellow, as we've seen in their clan mark, the Zig-zags come in red or white.)

ooo I didn't know that. I'll have to do my research :D

@TableTopReadyYouTube Жыл бұрын
thank you, i'm glad you like the tutorial. if I was to do horns now. I'd keep it simple and paint a base of Morghast bone and then paint lines leading up to the tip with Ushabti bone and screaming skull
