i attempted to find the best teaching video out there… i love bennie and the jets and i love to sing it… i don’t even know how to play the piano and you taught me everything! i can play it now no problem and i can’t even believe i did it without even knowing which notes i’m playing 😂 thank you!

You are a VERY good teacher. You explain things so concisely but you don’t take forever. Thank you!! I took piano for years when I was a kid this reminds me of how they would teach sometimes.

Thank you for this! Perfect for my level. It was easy enough to get it recognizable after about 15 min of work, yet sounds “close enough”, and I’ll probably be able to remember it too. The pacing of the instruction was perfect!

Bennie and the Jets is not an easy song to learn, my opinion, it is high intermediate to advanced? How ‘bout this Tipton? What a professional! I find it hard to relate to most online instruction. Many, not all just want to show you how cool they are. Tipton doesn’t have to show you, she just is cool. You can tell there is a vast amount of musical knowledge within her. From the way she counts the beats and gives you the option to count those measures with a triplet. I am a beginner at 63 years old and Tipton has me playing an advanced arrangement. As I said, I don’t know much about Stokes, but they are lucky to have her. What a Amazing Lady... and by reading other comments I’m not the only one that thinks this way. Thank-You Tipton!!!

Amazing, I think Carol King has just taught me Benny and the Jets! I’ve learnt most Elton John songs but always had a blind spot for this one, never had the right sound and could never find the right chords. But tonight I’ve just got my fingers on an RD2000 and have the most perfect Elton piano sound, and thought I’m finally going to learn it! And thanks to your video I have!! So happy, thank you

I picked up a few things here I'll put in my tool box. Tks. ( I use the 2nd inversion of C with the D note added-, maybe called C9 not sure, on most of the C stuff in this song. Im a newbie just learning, lol) I love to sing it so thats why i want to learn it. Your voice is great on it, i must say.

Thanks! And thanks for watching and commenting! A C9 would have the D and Bb added. If you're just adding the D it would be a C(add9). There's some debate on whether it's an add9 or add2, or both, depending on where it lands in the voicing. I usually go with add9 so there's no confusing it with a sus2 chord. C9 and C(add9) are both great and I've not thought to use them in Bennie and the Jets. I'll play around with those next time I play it!

Love how you walk us thru it, but I'm still a beginner and coordinating L & r hand is still hard. Also, when you play the metronome should you be striking the keys when it clicks or NOT when it clicks. That always confuses me.
