Dan i really l liked the moments in the video when you edited it to include the 2-3 things you wanted to do on the shot. I think it was choke up, ball 1/2 inch back…that is a really powerful teaching took for me at least. I try to take notes on your videos and i can pause it there and it helps
@cmalc8Ай бұрын
Great tip about not quitting on the shot (because you mentally think it's too much club), leading to a hook ! Your teaching on other videos, about going down the shaft and narrowing the stance a little, automatically restricting swing length is gold here. Do this swinging fairly fully, and everything should work out.

Another bit of Dan’s magic. I’m heading down to the range and on practice areas from hereon for three days a week through the off season with Dan’s instructional videos to hand. Expecting to be a far better player next season. Thanks DG.👍😎

Great video … my wind play has always been an issue. Between this help and short game help, you have made me understand so much more. Now practice to execute
@hawkey100Ай бұрын
Try the Faldo method, through grass into the air, see where it lands, pace it off , then times it by 4. So, if the grass lands 4 paces behind you, times by 4 means it's 16 yards of wind

Yes, that's very valuable advice, Dan. Thanks a lot mate. I do try to account for the wind, but obviously sometimes I don't know whether it was a misjudge of the wind or just a crappy shot. 😆

Great tips Dan, my normal course is a little off the ocean, often have strong gusts of winds, I would struggle to trust to club up that much into the wind its nice to see how you do it, with controls in place to limit any over swing. Thanks for sharing

Dan, you mentioned "that nice foot or so past the hole", which is spot on. Very interestingly, to nerds like me, Dave Pelz rolled hundreds of balls down a grooved ramp towards holes at different paces, and proved the most likely pace to hole a putt is 17 inches past the hole (the slower the more meandering, the faster the more central it has to be). He also proved that despite starting a putt on the perfect line, with perfect pace, they don't ALL go in (due to microscopic deflections on the way, occasionally not being quite 50/50 left and right) This fact alone means you shouldn't be too hard on yourself if a putt you felt was good doesn't go in. It might not have been your fault! A good psychological boost - golfers sometimes need that 😉

Another great video; honestly one of the best golf influencers out there. Just honest help with no gimmicks, no trying to hit HIOs over yer house! Hahaha! When the content is this good you don’t need gimmicks. Anyway what I would have loved to have seen here (and maybe this is for another video?) is how wind affects your ball when your hitting from the rough and spin is coming off the ball because that; maybe the subtle differences between hitting from the rough down grain but also against the grain. Also how cross wind can affect shots with differing spin on the ball. There you go, some ideas for you, I’m available at a reasonable hourly rate to be your content manager if you want 😂😂😂

Great advice. I love playing in the wind, gives me a chance against the big hitters who's ego won't let them hit the longer iron from 150 😅
@whatthe350410 күн бұрын
Doesn’t give you and advantage if hit that same shot with a 9 iron and flight it lower than his 5 meanwhile a whole 20 yards longer he still couldn’t reach lol.

Loved this, but I was hoping for a section on driving. Like a lot of mid handicappers I can only play one shape with driver (big fade!), but playing into the wind it kills me, and playing left to right wind is a lost ball, no matter how far left I aim!

Hey Dan, thanks for all your content and I love the book. Do you have a method for determining the wind speed? Is the ball affected differently at different heights?

I noticed you don't adjust or at least talk about adjusting the direction. For example, into the wind on the first hole, both balls drew a lot, I assuming because it magnifies the draw. The 3rd shot, you apparently took that into account and aimed right, didn't you? Any tips on this topic? 2nd thought for the distance, I usually try and think in terms of number of extra or less clubs. In that shot, you added 3 clubs and flattened the trajectory. Don't really see how to do it any other way.
@whatthe350410 күн бұрын
Doesn’t magnify a draw it’s just a tendency you will notice when trying to lower ball flight. Aiming right isn’t a solution to a draw just like aiming left isn’t for a fade it’s about club face control.
@mrwhite6717Ай бұрын
Time for a new glove Dan?

Going into the wind, you were hitting big draws. With the wind at your back, you hit a fade. Was this an intentional change in shape?
