I'm a huge PM fan(especially of his old stuff), but I don't think I ever heard this one. There are some really quirky changes in there but it made total sense when it finally gets to that Ab...........great post, as always !

You little beauty!! That, my friend, is brilliant. I have tried for ages to work it out by ear but to no avail - well done indeed. A great Macca song, in the "Blackbird' style but a bit more complicated. Thanks! 😀

Been working on this for a few days now. The real trick is to provide this groovy thing with the right hand that emulates a discrete percussion. It's very well executed in your interpretation... I think i"m in for a few weeks trying to figure this out.

Yeah, it's a lot like blackbird really, but with hammer-ons and a lot more changing of the strings

I beg to disagree. In my opinion, Jenny Wren is the superior song. Its harmony is more complex and the inclusion of the duduk in the recorded version make it a more innovative song. Many have described both songs as bookends of each other, and while I do love Blackbird, Jenny Wren, to my mind, is better.
@dnn9095 жыл бұрын
I always have thought that Jenny Wren is maybe less dynamic song but more complex and deep than Blackbird, and the variations in the end improves musically the structure of the composition. In conclusion: Blackbird is a minimalist masterpiece and you can prefer it, but deny the quality of Jenny Wren is just meaningless
